interesting notes, your opinion?

  • ### So why is the UM football team in so much better conditioned than last year, with 36 players bench-pressing 225 pounds 20 times, compared to 11 last year? “Last year, guys listened to Al Golden, but didn’t understand where he was coming from,” Eduardo Clements said. “Some of those guys have moved on. Some changed their” attitude.

The difference is the players who didn’t completely buy into Golden’s grueling program either left or “don’t want to go 6-6 again, so we’re more willing to do the work, instead of lagging,” Maurice Hagens said. As Brandon Linder put it: “Seeing the results last year, everyone knows what coach Golden says is real.”

Said Golden: “When people are saying we’re getting pushed around by K-State or Boston College or Virginia, we weren’t strong enough. You can make excuses, complain about it or fix it. Hopefully, we’re fixing it.”

  • How many winning games can these extra workouts bring?

    samsneed74

  • First off, those 3 games listed kstate, Virginia, and Boston college wins.... Duke, UNC,, FSU(possible), Bethune, Notre Lame (possible), USF (more than likely), VA Tech (tough one), NC State yeah.... 8 wins 3 losses and a bowl bid possibly let go unless we make it to ACCCG

  • It may not win a game single handedly....but it may mean the difference on a 3rd and 1.

That third and 1 may be the difference in winning the game. 3rd and 1 with two minutes left...a first down runs out the clock.

What makes me think about this quote from EC and MH is that, “Some of those guys have moved on...players who didn’t completely buy into Golden’s grueling program either left or “don’t want to go 6-6 again, so we’re more willing to do the work, instead of lagging,”

HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY DECLARE FOR THE DRAFT AS AN UNDERCLASSMAN ON A 6-6 TEAM AND BE KNOWN AS A WEAK, LAZY FOOTBALL PLAYER and expect to go in the first round of the draft?

    Sam,

I think we need to look at last year's timeline. Golden was hired on December 10th. He had to hire his staff and hit the road to recruit. Six months jammed into six weeks. By the time he got to NSD, it was the beginning of February. The offseason was already over. There was no chance for him and his staff to institute their expectations and systems. He had to get ready for the spring season. That's why we were weak. Not the kids. Not the coaching staff. Not the strength staff.

Fast forward to this offseason. It started the Monday after the last game. The results have been well publicized. Coach Golden and his staff and system is taking hold this year. Next year will be even better.

    Have faith. Trust The Tie!

+1 thats the best bit of opinion I have read in a long time, also your facts were true. I think in about 2 more years this team will be as strong as those SEC teams. Also I think its important to go into other states and get some big uglies for the lines. Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Illinois, Ohio, Jersey, Penn.... if we get them big country dudes that have been lifting cows most of their life mix that with Florida and Georgia speed.....shidd....

  • Expect FSU and KSU to win, UVA and VT could also win. The defense needs to bail out the offense this year, and the offense needs to outsmart people because there is not enough offensive experience or talent. Minimum 3 losses, maybe 4.

Don't count your chickens before theyre hatched.. We always play those teams tough plus they're at home FSU and VT.. And were going to kick KSU ass !!!

  • Fanny pack wearing freaks in Gainesville. I say we whip em like craven in a bowl game. Conditioning is now top notch top to bottom, not just top anymore. Holla.

After K State, I can't see how anyone would argue against this.
