I want these kids too, but are you serious with this comment? We are all die hard football fans. I want us to win as much as anyone, but if we're not trying to be the best academic institute we can be then what the hell is the point of being a university at all? We are oxford with a kick-ass football team, and we can survive and win championships without the 2-3 recruits each year that can't get the grades right.

What's ironic is that the "Harvard of the South", an institution dependant on fund-raising for revenue, is potentially costing itself money by ensuring that we suck so bad that attendence stays low and BCS Bowl appearance revenue stays out of reach...

At least give yourselves a level playing field against the schools competing against you for that same revenue. We are handicapping ourselves unnecessarily...

My bad guys maybe I should just get jacked up casue where the 30 something ranked school whatever in the nation, yea thats great!! No problem with that but honestly guys we talking football and players with a leader gets this turned around, we have the leader, we need the other. Guys relax! It could be worse. 90% of our commits have the grades. These guys will be coached up to the best of their ability. If a guy is a soft commit and is looking elsewhere, so is Golden. If one guy cnt get in to the U we will grab another one!. Im not worried and neither should you! We will be back on top "Very Soon" because the pieces are being put in place and Golden likes the challenge and is recruiting in his sleep! Im mad but look at Stanford! They have GREAT academics and they are doing quite well. Notre Dame is too. We will be GOOD!!!!!

Stanford is doing quite well but they did get waxed ("out-athleted") by a much faster more athletic Oregon team laden with many players who would not qualify for Stanford.

Look guys, I'm not saying me transform ourselves into FSU and declare half of our team "learning disabled" so they can get special exemptions in order to be eligible (yes, incredibly, this actually happened). I'm just saying that we should not unecessarily handicap ourselves with academic standards ABOVE what is required by the NCAA.

Instead, IMO, the U should be looking at the Football Program in terms as a revenue making resource (ticket sales, Bowl appearance revenue, Brand marketing, ect), because it is, and that it should not be tying it's own hands when it is in competition against other schools for access to the same resources. For a private school heavily dependant on donations and fundraising to meet it's financial goals it just doesn't seem to make sense for UM to keep throwing obstacles in it's own path here...

4 years ago we had the number 1 ranked class in the nation, packed with kids from inner city schools, and all of them qualified. Let's not make dumb excuses. We can win a national championship and still be a great school. We've done it before. You just need a great coach, and we finally have one.

Why is everyone talking about Stanford like before the last 3yrs they've been a dominant team. Before the past 3yrs how relevant has Stanford football been

There's a lot of good DTs that can be had so I'm not nearly as worried about that like I am at CB.
