WR Scott Commits To Miami

Melbourne Central Catholic wide receiver Rashawn Scott committed to the University of Miami today.

  • How is this guy not a four star prospect? His highlight tape is OBSCENE. He can catch, run, pass, AND defend (his closing speed as a safety is ridiculous). The guy is an all-around baller. He does it all.

  • Does anyone knows how many players we can sign this year? this is turning out to be a very impressive body of work and a big class 20-25

  • Last really good kid Miami brought in from the 321 (also less than a mile from MCC) was Palm Bay's Ramon Buchanon. He's been pretty damn good so far.

  • Just watch this guys highlight tape. This kid could be a diamond in the rough for us and lethal at the next level. Great hands, great speed, and overall impressive talent. Good luck and welcome to the U.

  • Woooaaahhhh! This man child just put a stamp of approval on this class. Grab a QB and a fat guy who can run and where in there. The gold man strikes again. Mr. Scott welcome aboard! When does the season start I'm pumped!

  • Does anyone know Wat kind of competition this kid played against

    Canes_tx

  • Kid looks great on film. He blows by all the other dudes on the field with ease. A year getting bigger, stronger, and faster will do wonders for him. 31 touchdowns...geez, he knows how to find the end zone!

JShannonhouse from the 321, eh? Think I know who you are ;-)

Scott is a solid player, but he won't contribute early. Look for Miami to focus on Marcus Maye (2012, Holy Trinity HS, Melbourne), as he is the best prospect in Brevard for all classes.

Not the best. Nothing like what the SoFla prospects face, or the Orlando/Tampa guys either. Solid player, though.

  • "Wow" I coached WR for 10yrs in Miami against Andre Johnson when he played at Miami High and after wacthing this kid's highlight film on you tube I can tell you this he is going to be a stud. He has great body control and catches everything with his hands - also great speed. Still needs work on routes, but I think this kid could be a 5 star. Today he reminds me of the kid from 2009 class for LSU Rueben Randle that Miami missed on. Looks like he's been under the radar. Fine with a little more work he going to be special.

    A few noteworthy points:

    1. "Man-child" is an understatement. He looks like he could have fathered the DB's he was up against.

    2. He does not quit on plays, especially on defense. Plus, I have never seen someone strip the ball like him.

    3. He can juke himself out of his own shoes. Some of his moves were Reggie Bush-esque.

    4. He is willing to catch passes in the middle of the field.

    5. How is this guy flying so low on the radar?

    Lone critiques:

    1. He needs to catch more passes away from his body and with his hands alone.

    2. Level of Competition?

    How you doing?

  • Just watched the Highlight reel.... WOW!!! Where did this kid come from.. Good size, great speed, especially with the ball. Great closing speed when on the defensive side of the ball.. Nice moves near the sidelines and in space... Definitely a lot of potential with this kid.. Don't understand how these so-called experts miss out on kids like this.. Definitely DIamond in the Rough Potential!!!

Critiques: Needs to go up and catch the ball at the highest point on the deep balls.. Definitely a man among boys in High School... Interesting to see how he transitions to being a man among men.. I like the pick-up though, Nice grab for Al Golden...

  • LMAO are you guys kidding me?

He's playing 1A competition is Melbourne, FL.

    Jesus Christ.

Time will tell if he can play.

    Hegemon76

  • I'll take Devin Lucien over him. The kids he played against looked pretty small.

    Giancarlo Ares

  • People may argue level of competition but i look at it like this theres still 11 guys trying to take u down and to score 31 time that is called being a flat out playmaker...he was probably the only talent they had and he still dominated..i like his size and speed could turn into a real solid playmaker for us

    mikeperez58

  • He plays against 1A rtalent which are school with about 400 or less students , Did you see any brothers playing against him, Not to get racially , but to be REAL. Could be a stud I wish him well. We passed on Caesar who is 4 stars and and ranked over 50 spots higher. I know I am bias , but you be the judge. The talent level was pooooorrrrrr he played against , he was a man among little kids. Remember the Brown brothers and all the hype , Kansas football is very low level and the older Brown could not hang at the U , many say its cuz of the lack of comp. I hope it works out. Looks great/stud but i put an * next to it for now.

  • this kid has the potential to be a star at the U! have to agree with theparody, he needs to catch more balls away from his body. With some polishing up by the coaching staff, this kid will do great things at the U! great under the radar pick up in my opinion!

  • With this commit, do you guys think this says anything about Onwnasor or Lucien getting or not getting an offer? It seemed like these cali kids were high on the radar.

    utahcanes

  • I got a tad excited above excuse me. His competition does appear kind of jvish but that's legit 4.4 speed. His size is noticeably 6'2 solid and I can't imagine why he wouldn't succeed wearing orange and green. I never think of what these kids could do this season I expect him to contribute by his 2nd year earliest in a big way. Honestly though other than Hankerson's consistency and Benjamin's homerun ball whats memorable from the wr core?. Kendall Thompkins is a myth to me and Streeter hasn't shown me much. Dorsett, Scott and maybe lucien?

    TrueUCannon21

  • ITU - I would love your opinion on this prospect.

    OMolinaDC

  • Couldn't agree more. The transition from 1A to D1 is gonna be a huge step for him game speed wise. He could be a sleeper though. Welcome to the U Rashawn!

    flyzl84

  • If he bulks up he could be a hybrid TE like florida used Aaron Hernandez

Parody, well said my man, well said. great assessment of him. i'm really looking forward to having him on the team.

he shows conviction while he is out there! love his ball stripping presence and hustle!
but like you said, maybe a summer with duper to catch passes away from his body and this kid could easily be one of the best catches!

Golden seems to have a real eye for talent, can't wait to see these guys suit up and a few years under their belts!!!!

    Carter and sometimes Bill Baskin

    CGBaskin

  • Yeah 1A competition but...did you see how he moves and outmaneuvered everyone...seemed to me he had great vision of the field. I think he's an awesome find...under-the-radar...but, isn't that what The U excels at? I think he's going to be a stud in a couple of years. Great work AG - yep, it's All Goodcheers
