UF schedule question

  • I have thought about this for the last hour and I cannot recall a regular season game that Florida has played outside of the state of Florida that was non conference in over 14 years.

So, does anybody know the last time the Gators played an out of state game against a non conference opponent? (Not counting bowl games)

*The answer and result is surprising

  • Is it Syracuse?

  • Is this a joke? Uf just played the toughest regular season schedule in the country. Containing 5 top 10 teams and you are talking schedules? That is nearly half the schedule in the top 10! and while the rest of the conf. games are SEC teams in a SEC schedule. Has Miami ever played 5 top 10 teams in a season or even 2 or even 3 seasons combined?
Really guys, you got to do better than that...LOL

You're young so I'll give you a pass...sike! Who do you think started that?!?!! We would have cup cakes and then at least 4 top 10 teams on schedule!

Your right, because in this league 1 loss often means no conf. championship. Different level of ball then the ACC. For example UM tied for 1st in the coastal with a 7-5 record and 3 conf loses...cmon, really.

  • Doesnt excuse Florida's cowardice OOC There is no excuse. As for the SEC there is a big dropoff after LSU Alabama and UF .UF rarely plays Bama during the regular season but ALWAYS plays Kentucky Tennessee and Vandy and Never Plays GA truly away. SO they have 7 home games one 2/3 home game in JVille. Its a joke.

UF played the toughest regular season schedule in college football. How is that a joke and how in good god to you improve upon that?
Really guy, look at what your saying. NO other school can say a word, especially an ACC school. You will not ever play a schedule even close to that period therefore you have no room for judgement.

Again, UF plays LSU, USCe, UGA, and FSU every single year. Until Miami plays those level of teams in 1 year not 4 then you don't have a justified complaint.

BTW Miami has 7 home games this year and a 8th and 9th game in FL. All but 2 of them against unranked teams who will fight just for bowl eligibility.
Is that a joke as well?

Says the guy who had his team get beat up on by a big east team. Take that SEC garbage somewhere else. Texas anm, Alabama and Georgia are good. The rest are way over rated. Just ask Clemson.

  • Like Alonzo said, I lost all respect for Florida when they took Miami off the schedule because they were afraid to play them. Only recently they put us back on the schedule but only play us once every five years. Don't be scared.

Wait. You like others complain about UFs schedule yet you think they should play UM. Playing UM would weaken the schedule not improve it. So playing UM on the road hurts UF. For over 10 years this has been the case and minus a few in between much more.

So which is it? You want UF to play UM and weaken their schedule? or Not play UM and strengthen their schedule?

They are a better team than all but maybe 1 team in the ACC. Keep it relative, and BTW they have won 11 games in both of the last 2 seasons. Miami has won 13 in 2 seasons combined, and has to incorporate 4 seasons to get 22 wins. So what makes a team great?

The last time UM won 11 games was in 2003 against ACC opponents, was that team good or great? UM that year played 4 ranked opponents,

In 2012 USCe played 5 top 25 teams, and in 2011 they played 5 ranked teams at time of play but 4 reamained at seasons end. So both of those seasons are better in qaulity wins than UMs last 11 win season.

You got to explain this on!

Nobody is saying the SEC isn't hard what we are saying is UF is a bunch of Vags who think playing in Jacksonville is considered a Far away game

Meanwhile Auburn travels to Clemson, Bama goes to Happy Valley, LSU goes to Morgantown and Dallas

And where did those teams SoS end up? So it is more important to play away than to play better teams? Not sure that equates my man. Clemson, Happy valley, Morgantown, are you kidding!
