  • I really like our DB's. They have a chance to be really special!

  • This is probably my favorite unit on both sides of the ball... We have some serious ballers and hard hitters back there... I was a little disappointed reading this that Jamal Carter wasn't mentioned... The kid has a lot of learning to do, but I think his ceiling is as high if not higher than an other safety... Anyway, I'm expecting coach D to let these kids play a little more man this year and allow them to make plays off their athleticism... There's gonna be tough competition because there are starting spots up for grabs... Gunter played really well last year, but I don't think any of these CB's can rest easy... Crawford, Dortch and these other kids are hungry... Can't wait to hear their progress and for the game in April...

  • Bush is a top safety and now over 200 lbs. I like the athletic ability of safety Rayshawn Jenkins at 215 pounds who in high school had an official time of 14.23 in the - 100 meter hurdles and 22'.8" in the long jump.

  • DB's have to get stronger and gain more confidence in the defensive schemes... It should be less thinking this year and more reaction... I have faith that our defense will tremendously improve their play this year. #Go Canes

Couldn't have said it better bro +1... Our LB's and DB's success is tied directly to that DL and how much push they get...

Mostly the dt spot because we have a stocked group of pass rushers if we keep it at 3rd and long we will lock teams down

  • Excited to see more of Tracy Howard this season !! Kid has All- ACC written all over him but like somebody mentioned we need somebody on the D-Line to step up. Another Season of Chickillo and Shayon Green rushing the passer will not cut it. They are not pass rushers.

  • I like how our db line up setting up got some young head hunters back there

    ALL ABOUT THE U

    CANEBG21

  • When do they release the new statistics on the players? Height, weight, bench etc. Interested to see where Deon and Reyshawn stand. I imagine Deon is a monster now and getting close to 225

No way he is close to 225... The kid came in tiny... I saw him in person recently he looked 175 soak n wet... The ideal weight for him would be 200...

Deon is a solid 200 pounds..he's close to 6'2 that's why you think he's skinny..I saw him on the UM shuttle with Tracy on Monday.. Tracy has gotten a lil bigger too.. Reshawn is a solid 205 too.. I usually see the players atleast once a week... (I work at UM).. he's close to 6'2 that's why you think he's skinny..

  • Earl Moore is looking like a beast now.. You can tell he's putting a lot of work in the weight room.. So does C. King he's got more define... I saw L. Robinson yesterday he looked pudgy.. LOL
Duke is a solid 190 right now too... The best looking sucker on the team though is Jawand Blue, that boy looks like a created player on NCAA.. LOL Hopefully it can translate into playing good next year... Clements still in a Neck brace.. and Gabe Terry is in a walking boot..

  • Good look bro... Lots of good info... You're right, Deon is pretty tall and you couldn't tell how light he was the way he'd run through tackles... The kid hits hard as a mf... I think 200 is a great weight for him and it'll help him a lot especially with those stingers he kept getting throughout the season... Good info on Earl Moore btw... I think he's a beast I liked what I saw from him last year in limited snaps... Disappointed to hear ab Terry, but I think Blue is definitely gonna show out this spring... Talk to his mom a couple times this year at the games cool lady... Humble hope he has the same mind frame...

  • DB's are only as good as the DL. If we have a top 50 defense, we should be talking ACCCG and BCS.

Carter is a true freshman; loaded with talent but lets get these guys on campus before we start putting expectations on them. In two years he will be a monster (giving him time to grow).

  • Look, 6'1, 6'2" is HUGE for a safety and most play right at 190-205 lbs. They need speed more than size and the ability to take your head off when they get there! Bama and LSU only have 1 S each that is listed at 6'1" (no bigger) which means they are probably 5'11" or 6' and look how good they are defensively. Artie Burns and Jamal Carter are both a legit 6'1" each and both are great head hunters coming in this year.

They will be fine physically, but will not hold up if he front 4 can't keep the big boys off them down field. EVERYTHING defensively this year depends on that up-front 4 rotation. We have 19 players listed as DE/DL, surely to God we can find 4-5 that can hold their own!

Exactly. Any type of QB pressure from the DL the INTs (at least) double this year.
