Simmer down here people!!!

  • This was a scrimmage!! It was our guys playing our guys. It's impossible to tell how good we really are when we keep making plays against eachother. Either the offense will look good, or the defense will play well. Shoot. For all we know the defense could be Better than anything we've ever seen and it shut down a practically FCS offense. I will agree the offensive line was popostrous though. However. Just simmer down here people. Even in recruiting we are just fine. We got Tracy Howard somehow. The Tie needs time. I'm known on this site to be maybe too much of a realist. And if I'm not looking at this and being worried I don't think anyone should... We will be fine I promise.

  • See that's the thing it's so possible to tell and I HATE scrimmages!!! You win and you lose. I'm not saying we have the next great defense because let's face it, our offense was severely undermanned... But at the same time... You never know. Lol

  • Us go 6-6 Yea i think we should just sit back, and watch these young studs do there thing. I dont kno what ppl expectations are of this year. But i dont see why we cant win more than 6 games this year. Freshman can make a huge difference. Clemson doesnt do squat last year if it wasnt for sammy watkins

    Watkins is good, but not that good! Clemson just caught a lot of people off guard last year early, but you saw what happen when teams starting getting tape on them!

  • Watkins was the best WR in that recruiting cycle and it wasn't even close. He had a ton to do with Clemsons success. There are always a few freshmen that make impacts like Watkins did in each recruiting classes. And Miami maybe has one in Tracy Howard. But that's even questionable due to the difficulty of the CB position coming out of high school.

    its a great point you make scott. its hard to pass judgement when for one side of the ball to look good the other has to look bad. besides, like i stated before, i seriously doubt that the play book was opened up for every coach on our schedule to see... completely agree, people need to simmer down. now, where there good plays and bad plays throughout the course of the game? sure, but lets not jump to hasty conclusions about the team.

    i have been hearing great things about Gunter, and saw a few of them in the spring game. we very well could have 2 new CB's step in and have a huge impact.

    Gunter is different. You expect JUCO guys to make immediate impacts! That's why you recruit JUCO players.

    Howard is by far the most talented CB on our roster. But I don't expect a true freshman CB to light up the college ranks.

    thats the most insanely ignorant and stupid thing Ive ever heard. He was a 1st team all-american as a true freshman....you know who the only other two players were to do that in history? Herschel walker and adrian peterson. anyone who says he wasnt that good has no credibility. you might as well say the SEC isnt the best conference too, or that the CFL is a better league than the NFL

    The numbers he put up were great no doubt, but when you look at numbers you also have to look at the offense they ran and that offense put up a lot yards and points. They're QB put up almost 4000 yards passing, is he a once in a life time player? Watkins put up over 600 yards in 4 game and did not break 100 the last 5 games! Clemson caught a bunch of teams flat, but as the season went on and teams caught on, that team had trouble breaking 20 points! Look behind the numbers! I guess you think David Klingler was the greatest college QB to ever play football also! I am not saying he is a bad WR, but the once in decade stuff is a bit premature.

  • Stats does alone do not make a player. College football is full of players that burst out and dim later. Trust if Miami ran a run and shoot or spread offense, you best believe our guys would but up crazy numbers! This is why we are down on our own players, because they don't put up crazy numbers, but guess what, we still put more in the NFL!

  • I really agree with Scott... It's just a practice game, and fans are getting mixed emotions about the game... I feel as though it's just the start of an exciting future, just sit back and give it a chance... Miami has a lot of talented players coming, so lets see things play out and see how the season starts for the U!!!

    I'm getting tired of this oh we put players in the league. It's great that we do! But we haven't done crap in the COLLEGE ranks in 7 years. I'm rooting for the canes to win championships, not to see how many players we put in the league.

    If we get back to winning, players will go to the league naturally. But I can care less about players going to the league from a 6-6 COLLEGE team. Good luck to them. But I want to get back to winning. Not being a NFL supplemental team.

    Make it stop. I can't take the lunacy anymore. Watkins did more in four games than Streeter did in his career. If you blame that on the spread offense I'm canceling my subscription.

    As long as he keeps ripping the Free Shoes Seven Nation Army Defense a new one and reducing the TackyTrashy fans to tears he is ok in my book.
