that is not saying much being from what area you are from. I would really like you name some top teams nationally from from your area. The state of FL puts around 2 to 5 every single year in the top 25 nationally. So this equals are lower lever teams are probably just as good as you best across the board

Once again Scott this is way to childish, I thought the original thread you were way outta line but to start a new thread is over the top. It's cool to have an opinion about your beliefs, but to continually come on here and bash a new member of this family is disgusting! Because of the level of talent he played against in high school?? Since when did that make Criterea for someone to develop into a great football player? You keep stating with so much pation that this isn't the year to offer R3 because of limited schollies, so obviously you don't think Golden knows what he's doing, because I'm pretty sure he already knows a rough number of Scillies he will have for the next two to three years! You really are starting to sound like a D bag, with all the ranting and raving about this kid. Hell I can remember not to long ago when you were on here telling everyone you wanted a chance to play for the U. Not one time do I remember any fans come on here and bash u and say u weren't UM caliber. As a matter of fact I and a bunch of posters gave you words of encouragement. You should really check yourself!

Ok here goes reasons why he deserves a schollie
#1 is the kid talented enough to play CFB? Yes, he does not have a Reggie Bush highlight reel but he can play. #2 Competition sucks you have a legit argument but the Production is there 500 yards in a game and 13 YPC, what do you want to see 20 YPC? 1,000 Yards in a game? #3 He is a talented athlete, he can dunk a basketball at 5'8 and has 4.5 speed. #4 His dad was a late bloomer, he was not the 250 lb stud you see in the NFL today when he stepped on campus in 1992, so his son may very well be a late bloomer as well, he could project to be 5'10 205 lbs cat quick stud RB or a instinctve safety in a couple of years. #5 He is a high character guy adn we need that to grow the culture and improve this team. #6 He would be with us 5 years and his dad and all the good that comes with his dad hanging around campus, who knows the affect that has on recruiting on the teams morale and attitude and even our athletic dept gifts grants etc..
Reasons why he would not deserve a schollie
#1 Right now he would be somewhere between the 84-85th most talented kid on our roster if he does not grow or get stronger or get better.
Furthermore you are a pure hater, People do care that we talk to these kids that is why you PAY MONEY to a website to read about what these kids say. So if I happen to talk to some of these guys and give everyone FREE INFO that sometimes is better then what we get here, because i am not a reporter kids feel comfy to tell me the straight scoop. Lots of people have written me thanking me for my info, what do you contribute to the world? Nothing. Be a real fan buy tickets and cheer the team but if you want to bash #1 Cane Legends and their family. #2 Recruits that our staff has evaled and decided to offer #3 fans that go out of their way to find nuggets of info or other tidbits to provide to other fans then you are not a real Cane fan and you have no clue what it is like to be a fan.

I dont really have a strong opinion on this, there are reasons supporting both views... so Ill just say this: I highly doubt Ray Lewis would want his kid to get a scholarship based on his name alone (he would want him to earn it), even though there is no way he would probably allow him to play anywhere else. Does anyone honestly think he wants his kid to skate through life or get all the breaks because hes Ray lewis' son? Secondly, Scott is right, we are going to have reduced scholarships as it is, so anyone who is emphatically behind this decision doesnt have a reason to complain when our depth chart is depleted or if we are plagued by injuries...its no longer a valid excuse if were giving away scholarships based on legacies. The one thing that does bother me though is that the same people that are for this decision are also the same ones who were talking crap about Keith Brown trying to get his brother a scholly last year and talking about how his parents should be ashamed because all theyre teaching their kid is how to get a free ride in life and take the easy way to success, etc. the other thing about this decision is all Golden has been preaching since hes gotten here is accountability, and opportunities based on merit, this move does not support or reinforce the philosophy he has preached for over a year. The hypocrisy is deafening...
PS. I guess I am leaning a little towards this not being a good decision but mostly it is because of the reasoning and timing of the decision, not necessarily the decision itself because it would also be a questionable decision to not have him be a Cane. I believe they owe him a long look because his name is Ray Lewis, not necessariily a scholly.
