  • Ray Lewis III does not deserve a scholly!!!!

Now that that is out of the way... I want to see how many down votes I can get!!!! And Id love to hear more reasons you think he should get one. BEYOND THE FAMILY THING. NO ONE deserves a Scholly on name alone. Do you really believe that he will be fine even though he plays in what is practically a middle school (talent wise) league?? OPINIONS!!!!!! (And I was serious about the down votes. No up votes please.)

You bastard!!! I SAID NO UPVOTES!!!!!! Lol Dude. In my defense I told you I sucked!! BUT. BACK TO THE FIGHTING!!!!!!!!! NOW no Downvotes!!! I think this has been the most controversial day EVER on this site. But seriously. Come on with the arguments and the down votes!!!

    scott_chritton

  • I will say this though, he had 504 yards in 1 game..although the talent he was playing against is suspect..the talent he was playing with is suspect as well.

yea scott, your right. your not allowed to have talent in college when you played against inferior competition in HS. never happened, never will, smh.
at any rate, if RL3 shows half the heart Ray Lewis did/does i say sign his ass up. lord knows it hasn't been talent we've been missing the past 8 or so years, its been Discipline, Desire, Work Ethic, and HEART.
so here's your down vote since you asked so nicely. :)

  • WHO CARES I know about half the team from 2008 did not deserve a scholly as well the way they played. You never know who pans out look at the nfl how many players are superstars that come from small a college some of your top QB as well

    Richie1

  • I will gladly give you what you ask for. Scott you sound like a teenage girl on the rag who just got dumped. You are sitting here hoping to get your shot and yet belittle people who do. Clearly golden believes in family and legacy but believes in character and drive more otherwise Chad Kelly would be on the team!!
As far as a REASON there is only one needed the COACH of the hurricanes gave him one!!!!!!

    RisingCane

  • I'll say this. It's practically impossible to tell what this kids TRUE talent level is. The fact that he plays at not just a lower level he plays at the LOWEST of the LOW levels. Push comes to shove that IS the problem. RaisingCane. You can say what you want. Fact is he played at an EXTREMELY low level in HS.

PS the reason Im asking for Downvotes is to emphasize that they're NOTHING. Lol people follow your posts and downvote you hoping that they will hurt your feelings. And it's just stupid!! THAT is why I'm asking for Downvotes RaisingCane.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter what fans think and who they think deserve a scholarship. The staff does all the evaluations themselves, they look at players that they think will best fit their scheme and they offer them occordingly. So what u, me or anyone else thinks is merely opinions. And everyone is entitled to those.

I can't see them offering him merely because they thought his tape looks good. Yes. His tape looks GREAT!! But the problem is when you look at everyone else on the field!!! No one else there will probably even get a D2 Scholly.

    Really?? More up votes?? -.-

didnt ray lewis himself come from a school that played at the same level of talent. we've had quite a few stars come from similar situations, yet you're now scoffing at his scholarship? someone else on another post made a good point, he might be playing against poor talent, but he is also playing WITH poor talent, if thats your perspective. Ceterus paribus, he is still carrying the majority of the work load. my view,. i have no reason to doubt AG's evaluation of talent or character, that coupled with the fact that RL3 is the son of everyones favorite former Cane is enough for me to be psyched to have him aboard.

  • This isnt the year to be dabbling with this type of player!! And just because it happened once doesn't mean it will happen again. RB is a big position of need. They said they want him at CB or RB. Maybe he can play CB idk. But even still. We are gonna have some outstanding CBs in the very near future so he will probably never see the field. It's unrealistic to expect a kid at his age to grow 5 inches in a couple years. I was 6'8" by my junior year and I was done growing. Not many guys I know grew much after their junior year. So to think he could play LB while it would be AWESOME is beyond unrealistic. If he even had better height and was more versatile then fine. But at 5'8" and his level of comp I find it to be ridiculous.

    scott_chritton

  • This topic really needed a new thread? OP this is very attention whorish of you.

This is the type of legacy you make room for no matter what.

Golden gets it, Scott Chritton does not.

He is definitely a ATH on Goldens recruiting board IMO.

I think we will still take another RB and we are only taking one CB. And with Alexander and Burns still available, there is no way Ray fills that spot.

Lulz. Ray Lewis played at Kathleen which is 6a. Not exactly cupcakes.

Without a running clock, they would beat Lake Mary Prep 200-0. Yes I'm serious.

  • Talent level of competition doesn't matter as much as people think it does.

I know for a fact that Trent Richardson played against some of the crappiest competition Florida has to offer.

Anyone with half a brain still knew that kid was a beast and that he would go on to dominate.

Not sayin Lewis III is on par with TR, just using their similarly bad competition to prove a point.
