Scouts: Miami finds a sleeper

Ricquan Southward (Lakeland, Fla.) is a sleeper on the recruiting trail coming on late in his first season of real production at a traditional powerhouse. While he will need some technical polish when it comes to route running, Miami could have a steal here if its patient in his development.

Southward is tall, athletic with a good pair of hands. He has a sneaky extra gear and the long speed to get vertical and behind coverage as well as turn the short pass into the big gain with his up field quickness. A jump-ball specialist as well who shows the ability to track the ball and adjust his body to make the difficult catch over small DB's.

Southward needs to become crisper as an intermediate route runner, continue adding bulk to his frame and improve overall field awareness but his ceiling is very high.
