I will be very honest. Originally I never thought he would get an offer as a RB. I still dont. My best guess is if we land another RB he will be brought in as a DB. We just landed Duke and Alex Collins. Danny Dillard and Ray could be vital depth. He could be a safety down the road. So we trust Golden and welcome this young man into the Cane fam.

#2 i know this young man n talk to him often, i work out with one of his homeboyz sometimes he is small but he has good genes, RB's do not need to be tall, they need to be quick and tough and he has both. He is 5"8 ish and is now 180 he can dunk a basketball so he is very athletic. He runs a legit 4.55
#3 he is a Junior where will he be ball fall camp 2013, he could easily be 5"10 200 running a 4.4
#4 his dad is the supplement king in the nfl, this kid will be strong and hardworking, he will help our team on and off the field.
#5 he is high character, his dad will be retired next year and will bevaround our program for the next 4 years.
#6 trust Goldens eval over u arm chair recruiters, this kid played good comp in the playoffs and had 208 yards. The staff full well knows schollies are tight etc etc this kid deserved an offer period

I don't mind that we offered. Ray Lewis has earned that ship and more for his son. We can never re-pay him for all the things he has and will continue to do for our university. This is just showing him a token of our appreciation.
There is no debate really though, he isn't UM caliber.

I have never posted on this site, nor any fan site for that matter, but the level of disgust and fury built within me after reading some of these comments from so-called "fans" is unbearable. First, let me say that I am no authority on what constitutes being a fan. But I have called myself as much (of UM football) for the past 20+ years. And I have never been as embarrassed as I am to carry that title as I am today. I absolutely hate the fact that I am associated with people like those who have posted previously regarding Ray Lewis III. Besides the fact that he is talented, which I know is a subjective measure, and who I feel has as much potential as any recruit we could possibly sign in this class...he is also the son of a legendary living alum of the program. Not that this scholarship is some kind of nepotistic token of appreciation to ray senior (which if it were, would in and of itself be completely ok), but the kid earned it. The only conclusion(s) that I could possibly draw from this thread is that: (1) some of you posters who have suggested otherwise are very much the entitled fan base that the rest of America have grown to abhor. These kids owe you nothing. If anything what is owed is to those who poured blood sweat and tears onto Greentree such as current/former players. [And no, it's not ok to think we offer a scholarship so that Ray Senior can become a coach or donor to the program...that is equally disrespectful](2) you are star-grubbing whores who have no appreciation for talent. (3) You have no appreciation for family, camaraderie, brotherhood, loyalty or any similar sounding adjective that has defined this football program for decades. (4) Realize that some of your words are no less damaging to the program than Nevin Shapiro's (i.e. giving no credence to the fact that these message boards can easily be viewed by commits such as Lewis himself and other recruits) and finally (5) that Scott is a bit$ch.
