    If his defense was so good why he's not here now? Gtech blew us out one yr and then we beat them the following 2 yrs and Oklahoma didn't have bradford for the game, so how you going count that. What about last yr against USF? OSU? Our team is better coached now then it was last yr point blank! If RS was the coach on saturday we would of lost 52-14. The reason the coaches are playing zone is because they wanna keep everything in front of the inexperience DB's and plus they have no depth with all the injuries and suspensions. I just want you to watch the defense the rest of the season and watch you see progression each game (which is a sign of good coaching). And yes he would of done a better job with the 08 class, didn't he do it at temple? He sure had them play better than i ever seen RS had them play on saturday! Golden is 100 times a better coach then RS! Period!

    He's not here because he wasn't a good head coach. All I was asking was how can he be the blame for the defensive woes with all of those other circumstances I mentioned. I like what Golden is doing so don't get it twisted, but know that anything takes time to bulid even in Goldens case. But don't blame the previous staff.....the defense was not bad, the offense was turnover prone and put the D in bad situations many many times last year. And how can u not count the Oklahoma game. They had Landry Jones the same one in the heisman race, and they knocked Broyles out of the game. That was a spirited game to me. They nearly won that USF game if not for a late turnover. OSU game that was the start of Jacory's melt down last season, not the Defense. FSU game they just came out flat and got whooped in every phase of the game.

  • You can't expect miracles overnight. You have to give the coaching staff time to implement their systems, and for the players learn and buy into it. Rome wasn't built overnight! Coach Golden is laying the groundwork, he is instilling a philosophy!

  • Look at the defensive signees from 2009 on and it is clear that Shannon was asleep at the wheel. No DTs worth noting. No CBs worth a damn. Nothing but projects at LB. I honestly couldn't tell you who did a worse job looking at what Coker left on offense and what Shannon left on defense.

    Alright I got what you sayn now...RS recruiting was alright, I just didn't like how he turned players down cuz there size and all other crazy stuff. But he just didn't develop and coach well. I don't blame him for the defense woes at all, but I blame him for these current players not reaching there potential and thats why I said Golden would of did better with the 08 class. Golden knows how to evaluate and develop players, which would of made him better in that situation. Now the only reason I'm not that impressed by that Oklahoma game back in 09 is because we played against L. Jones when he was a freshman and we only won by 1 point. If Bradford plays that game were screwed just like that florida game in 08, but 09 was RS best season as head coach.

    Our D was always on the field because of turnovers, we turned it over at Least 35 times maybe more......but you got it......you guys know it all.

    So ur saying our D last year was as bad as this one? Who are you trying to kid?

    CLEARLY there is a significant dropoff in talent across the board.

    Yes this years defense is worse, but stop trying to make it sound like last years defense was any better. It sucked.

  • I'm happy to have Coach Golden at the helm. Top flight recruits are avoiding Miami... this is the perfect opportunity for Big Al to find the diamonds in the rough that no one wanted, coach em' up, and see what they do. Playing with heart can bridge the skill gap.

    I was responding to your last post. I read your first post and I gave a few circumstances on why the defense is the way it is now.....Your opinion on the defense, just like I have mine.
