Opinion: Should ACC Tournament leave North Carolina

  • The last two game's of UM, ACC tournament games to NC State & UNC where pretty much home field advantage. And at the end of the day, UM still came out on top, that's why I belee UM will win the NCAA Tournament. I feel the ACC tournament should be played in ATL, since with new addition of PITT, SU, UL. or even before the new addition.

I'll give you a hint. If we still had Hurricane 1 he'd be the 3rd oldest dog mascot in the conference.

  • I live here in Raleigh. While I agree that the ACC tournament is home field advantage for the Triangle teams it will never be moved. It is like what the Rose Bowl is to California. There is a lot of tradition that comes along with it. There was talk of the game being played in New York but that is just to appease the fans of Pitt and the Cuse. It will not be moved. That being said, the ACC is and never will be a football conference. Once FSU leaves for the Big 12 and Clemson leaves for the SEC Miami will be forced to go. I like them being in the ACC because I get to see them play a couple of times a year outside of flying to Miami and watching a game.

  • It should go to the home of the out right acc title winner ... How does North Carolina, duke, wake forest, North Carolina state all get home court when they not the number one seed in they conference tournament .. The number one team went out and handled their biz so reward them..

  • Maybe it want neva be moved but I strongly belee FSU, Clemson best choice is to stay in the ACC. Outside of TX and OU, what makes them a football conference over the ACC. Big12 have decent's football teams, just like the ACC. Also if the Big12 were such a good conference, why Colorado, TX A&M, Nebraska, Missouri left. Tell me the Big12 is on there last leg more than ppl think.

Colorado was always a better Pac10 fit. The rest were mad about Texas TV network deal.

The Big 12 will easily outlive the ACC... which will eventually be 100% basketball conference.

    North:
    Virginia Tech(FB. A-/BB. C-)
    Virginia(FB. C/BB. B-)
    Boston College(FB. F-/BB. C+)
    Louisville(FB. B+/BB. A+)
    Cininnati(FB. C-/BB. B-)
    PITT(FB. C-/BB. A-)
    Syracuse(FB. C+/BB. A)
    South:

    Clemson(FB. A-/BB. C)
    Miami(FB. C+/BB. B+)
    North Carolina(FB. B-/BB. A+)
    Duke(FB. D+/BB. A+)
    North Carolina State(FB. C+/BB. B+)
    GT(FB. B-/BB. C
*Notre Dame 5 games yearly. (FB.A+/BB.B+)

Overall Football grade= B grade teams will get better in about two years.
Basketball grade = A+, that's good that bball programs are good too. Only mean a better payout on tv deals for the conference as a whole. Jus wait when the football side pick up

  • Probably would have put Louisville at a B- but with Strong staying & Bridgewater I gave them the benefit of the doubt... Just don't like them & VT being the same grade. So call VT a B+.

You can't go wrong with them grades. But I belee the ACC will come up in football in about 2 to 3 years. I can't wait til' Cininnati get here, they want to be here so badly. Already upgrade there stadium just for a ACC invite. I think Wake is better suited for the A-10 or Big East. Football wise they can't even fill out their stadium with FSU & Notre Dame coming. Basketball side of things, pretty decent but maybe should drop football.
