We are definitely on a down note right now, but you always need a light at the end of the tunnel. Well, we all know that Golden is our captain to take a sinking ship up from the depths of despair and to rise and sail among the nation's elite. You need players to win. Recruiting is VITAL to being successful at the college level. So let's relish in yesterday's scores that will only help our cause to rising from the ashes back to the top of college football.....
Think about yesterday's games:
Florida struggles with Furman. Furman. Ummm...lemme repeat that. Furman.
FSU loses to Virginia. Preseason number 5? National title hopes?
South Florida loses to Us.
Oregon takes a dive.
The overrated Sooners(every year) fold to the brilliance of RG3. (Seriously, how good is this guy?)
Ohio State loses....AGAIN!
Penn State scandal continues.
Clemson gets CRUSHED by a terrible NC State team.
Texas loses to K State. Man alive is Mack Brown awful. I still can't believe that their fan base likes him.
Bottom line is this: The majority of these teams go up against us for big time recruits and we now have GREAT leverage against these other "so called" elite schools in the recruiting process. Yes Scott, it's a process....
So Tracy Howard, come on down!! You're the next contestant to play in the secondary on the 2014 National Champs!!
Eddie Goldman, come on down!! You're the next contestant to play on the d line on the 2014 National Champs!!
Stefon Diggs, come on down!! You're the next contestant to play where ever the hell you want on the 2014 National Champs!!
Nelson Agholor, come on down!! You're the next contestant to play in the slot on the 2014 National Champs!!
I couldn't be HAPPIER yesterday with a 6-3 victory!!!
Sometimes it's not what you gain....It's what others lose.
BLOODY MARY TIME!!!!

Scott, you have definitely gone down this year in Through the Smoke lore as one of the all time classic posts that NEVER will be forgotten!
I overheard somebody say that word at a bar the other day and just started laughing! The guys I were with asked, "why are you laughing? And why did you say, I wonder where Scott is right about now?"

Im not going to ask anyone to join me in my pessimistic perception because you dont have to, and you guys are welcome to skew things to the sunny side if you wish but these facts arent even the most relevant. Better look at it from both sides...
-Florida struggles with Furman. Furman. Ummm...lemme repeat that. Furman. AND ENDED UP SCORING 54 AND BEATING THEM BY 3 TD'S, and they also have the same record as us -FSU loses to Virginia. Preseason number 5? National title hopes? GUESS WHO ELSE LOST TO UVA??? OH AND FSU -South Florida loses to Us. THIS IS TRUE, IN A 6-3 GAME -Oregon takes a dive. AND WENT TO THE NC LAST YEAR, AND ONLY OTHER LOSS IS TO LSU ON A NEUTRAL FIELD -The overrated Sooners(every year) fold to the brilliance of RG3. (Seriously, how good is this guy?) IF OVER-RATED EQUALS ONLY 2 LOSSES PER YEAR, SIGN THE HURRICANES UP I SAY -Ohio State loses....AGAIN! AND THEY HAVE THE SAME RECORD AS US AND HAVE GONE TO A BCS BOWL EVERY YEAR FOR THE PAST DECADE...AND WILL ALMOST UNDOUBTEDLY LAND A COACH WHO WILL TURN THIS YEAR AROUND (AS MUCH AS I HATE TO SAY IT) -Penn State scandal continues. DONT WE HAVE OUR OWN SCANDAL TO WORRY ABOUT? SHOULDNT THROW STONES IN GLASS HOUSES -Clemson gets CRUSHED by a terrible NC State team. AGAIN, GOT CRUSHED BUT ONLY HAS 2 LOSSES AND A FEW GREAT WINS, AND IS GOING TO THE ACC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME -Texas loses to K State. Man alive is Mack Brown awful. I still can't believe that their fan base likes him. WE ALSO LOST TO KSU AT HOME
So due to all this I am struggling to see how Miami can be viewed in a much more positive light than these other programs, unless of course you only take into account this one weekend. someone could easily be saying Miami struggled to a 6-3 win over a team thats 1-4 in the worst conference in cfb...and who isnt even bowl eligible left. I myself dont see how that is something to hang your hat on. And are we seriously asking if the best day in canes history is a 6-3 win over an average team and a lot of bad days for teams we routinely lose to? Have we really sunk that far?

You apparently don't follow Miami very closely. Other schools have an advantage over Miami when they are rolling and Miami has a losing record. They aren't rolling and Miami doesn't have a losing record. I recruited at every level. Junior college, division 3 and division 1 in basketball.
Believe me when I tell you this: That day was one of the BEST days in Miami Hurricane football history. These teams VALIDATED why to go to Miami and not these other programs. Trust me. I've been there, done that.

I wont believe you or trust you because that is the dumbest thing Ive ever heard. November 19th, 2011 isnt another D-day or Pearl HArbor or something. Is 11/19/11 supposed to be Goldens recruiting pitch from now on?
Tracy Howard: "Hey coach Golden, Ive decided to go to Florida instead of Miami"
Golden:: "But what about 11/19/11? I thought that day would have sold you on us
Howard: "what?"
Golden: "yea you dont remember? we beat USF 6-3 to become bowl eligible and FLorida struggled to a 22-point win against Furman. and I knew you wouldnt pick OU becasue even though they are a perrenial top 5 team, they lost to Baylor that day. why would you want to go there because they always choke away their perfect seasons and lose one towards the end...hilarious. I thought that day sold you on the importance of not even being able to meet mediocre expectations and how good squeaking out a 6th win would feel."Oh and we havent had a losing record for a few years now, and how has that worked out for us on the recruiing trail compared to these teams? and other schools dont have an advantage over us in stadium, attendance, facilities, success in the last 10 years, etc? we are 4th IN OUR OWN FREAKING DIVISION...think about that for a minute. as you said, we are what we are...
