NFL Draft

  • Sure looks like it's going to be another year of The U, aka the NFL's developmental team, leading college football with the most players drafted.

I really dig recruiting but the combine is right around the corner and the draft shortly after that, and if any of you are even slightly like me, the NFL draft is like my mid off season fix while I'm jonesing for the season to start again.

Last year I bet a colleague of mine, an Ohio State Fan, that Miami would have more players drafted than the Buckeyes. Thank you Matt Bosher and Richard Gordon.

    The gimmees this year.
Miller, Streeter, Spence, Washington, Benjamin especially after he is the fastest player at the combine, Forston, Vernon and Ford after he got some rave reviews after that all star game.

On the bubble. Byrd 6'3" 215-220lbs 4.5 40 somebody is going to give him a chance at least as a free agent, Horn and Gunn, Chris Meyers is doing Horn a big favor at Houston, and Gunn is strong as bull and a good guard, both will at least get free agent contracts with Gunn having an outside shot of being drafted.
Marcus Robinson-free agent unless he is really 250+ and runs a sub 4.5 40 like he did when he came to Miami.
Jordan Futch-for me is one of the most disappointing Canes of the past 4 years other than our two current safeties. Great athlete with no football IQ, but he is 240lbs+ and is fast so someone may give him a shot like they did with Shields.
Regis, undrafted free agent and hopefully for him the practice squad.
Sorry Jacory, unless you can fire that deep out it might be time to start looking for a high school coaching job or consider the arena league or Canada, but I don't even think Canada would be an option as those fields are a lot bigger.
Spencer Whipple, maybe your dad needs an assistant.
Andrew Smith, please tell us you at least graduated.
Blake Ayles....who the hell is Blake Ayles?
    Mike Williams..child please.
Jojo and Lee Chambers. Sorry guys the dream is probably over. Ryan Hill was much better than them and he only got to sniff the NFL.

Richard Gordon has to be Futch's hero. In fact Gordon has to be the goal of most college football players. "Hey, Richard Gordon got drafted"

I can't even imagine the phone call on draft day.
"Hi Richard, it's Al Davis of the Oakland Raiders. So, you ready to become a Raider?"

"Get the **** out of here. Mother****** you know this ain't funny Jacory"
"No, Richard it's for real, we just drafted you, aren't you watching?"
"Watching the draft? Why would I? I was actually posting my resume on Monster and Careerbuilder. Mr. Davis....you know I played in 49 games and had a total of 10 catches for 60 yards without even scoring a touchdown.....but hell yeah I want to be a Raider. I just applied for an entry level food service job, now I get to be a football player after I haven't been one for 4 years. Cha Ching!!!!!"

  • That NFL draft is fickle. Apparantly you never know.

Darrell McGlover played more years in the NFL than Gino Toretta, and the same number of years as Kenny Dorsey.

I believe our skill guys are really going to surprise a lot of people at the combine.
I lived in Denver for a while and my bro still lives there, and he says the Broncos are creaming for Miller.
Streeter just has to run a sub 4.5 40 and he's going to shoot up draft boards.
He looks real big right now, and not Mike Williams out of USC big, but muscular big.
    You can't teach 6'5" 228lbs and 4.3-4.4 speed.
Washington looks like Orlando Franklin and the league undervalued him as Denver has shown he's going to be a starting right tackle in the league for the next 10 years.
Benjamin, I bet he's open right now. That kind of speed you can't teach. He's Meshawn Jackson without the attitude.

And Vernon......I said it before, mean looking with no neck, big, strong, quick and fast. Just plain scary looking.

  • THIS is the shit, everyone involved with the NFL just people from other places that watch football even think like this,"Miami puts a lot of players in the NFL!!!" AND I must say that is true.... But this is the shit, WHY IN THE HELL WE ARE STRUGGLING SO MUCH IN THE acc!!!! This is crazy, as a fan I hate thinkin about it.... Regardless Miami produces NFL type players, but we continue to struggle on the field as a college team... I'm putting everything into Coach Golden and staff to turn things around, and put us back on top of college football... After 3 seasons, the media will be talking about Miami joining the SEC!!!! FEAR THE GOLDEN TIE
