You do realize that all this talk was started by one reporter and he was told to his face by the President of FSU that it wasn't happening. You guys are coming up with your own ideas of what you would like to happen for some reason, but it won't happen!
P.S. FSU won't be playing Pitt, BC, or Syracuse every year and Clemson isn't going anywhere!

You do realize that at FSU the President has no say in this matter. It is up to the board of trustees, who have told the President that he either gets on board with them or he will be gone!!! FSU is going to the Big12, the Big12 will pay the 20mil buyout and will loan FSU an additional 5 mil. It's going to happen!!!!!

The 20 mil exit fee to leave the ACC is all but worked out. The B 12 will pay a good portion of that with money it got paid from the teams that left the B 12 last year. Also, with Clemson, WVU, and others jumping on board, travel will be virtually no different than the new ACC ie. Pitt, BC, and Syracuse...

The $20M will be paid from the exit fees from A&M and Missouri? From all published media reports in the B12, those funds were dispersed to the remaining schools to offset their losses from the smaller TV contract. That money is long gone. Where do you come up with this information?
And you're going to tell us that the travel costs for FSU and Clemson will be a wash? Instead of traveling to Atlanta, Miami, Washington DC, Raleigh, Charlottesville, Chapel Hill, Greensboro, the Clemson Tigers and Florida State Noles get to go to Ames, Lubbock, Manhattan KS, Lawrence, Ft. Worth, Austin, OK City and Waco in the midwest. Really? A wash?

Bottom line is soon there will be 4 - 16 team super conferences that get to compete for a National Title. SEC - Pac12 - Big10 - Big12. It will be a 4 team play-off with Pac12 vs Big10 and SEC vs Big12 round 1 match-ups. If Miami doesn't leave with FSU and Clemson, we will be left out in the cold. ND and Penn State are not going to the ACC.

LOL dude, if your getting your info from WC, you are a day late and a dollar short. It's obvious you don't want to go, so you are looking for reasons to say this realignment talk is all BS. I can't bring Premium Post here but I can tell you that FSU BOT is looking and talking. Anyhow, good luck to you guys whatever happens...

The President is not allowed to speak on anything that would even give the slightest hint that FSU is considering the Big 12.
Why?
Because then the ACC could sue the Big 12 for tampering with a member of their conference.
It's all politics from here on out, good cop/bad cop routine (see President Barron -- former AD at the Univ of Texas, and then our BOT member speaking Pro-Big 12.) Everything is done through back channels etc to keep off the grid.
There are certain procedures that a school must first do behind closed doors before you see on your ESPN ticket "Florida State will join the Big 12 in 2013" Those procedures are being done now. You will see an announcement sometime in late June, after the new Big 12 commish is announced on 6/15.
This is 100% happening, Florida State has already agreed in principal on a deal with the Big 12, and Clemson has as well. The talks between Notre Dame and the Big 12 have heated up over the last 24-hours as well.
Since we're all "247 family" here is the latest update for 5/22 from Brian Ethridge of 247sports (broke last years Big 12 shakeup)
Notre Dame could be on the clock soon. The Big 12 has two members of the ACC ready to move, but will the Big 12 become 12, 14, or 12.5?
Notre Dame has 27 months to exit the Big East in it's Olympic sports and 2015 for it's NBC contract to expire in football home games.
Option One
Once thought untouchable in their desire to be independent in football the new BCS vote could nudge them towards a conference.
The conference currently in the lead is the Big 12, but the contract with NBC creates considerable problems. First, the contract runs until 2015 which would mean an extremely high buyout and bad will between the network and a possible future business partner.
Second, Notre Dame would need to buy out of any game currently scheduled.
These two issues will remain for another 3 years and could lead to another option.
Option Two 12.5
Olympic sports enter in 2014. The Big East requires a 27 month process, but as seen last year West Virginia broke that with a large buyout with help from the Big 12.
If this occurs estimates of 1.5-2 million dollars per school will be added to the Tier 2 deal. Once Clemson and Florida State are added, this would push the total package near 26 million before the conference championship game.
Option Three
Go to 14 and wait on Notre Dame to join as the 15th school and bringing a 16th team to complete the superconference. This is highly unlikely at this time.
Clemson and Florida State
Both of these schools are ready to move forward, but must wait for the inclusion of West Virginia, TCU, and newly named Big 12 Commissioner to be officially placed into the conference.
Once this is done a vote is expected to accept both into the Big 12.
We'll have more tomorrow as this saga continues to unfold.

This will never happen! First ND and other mid majors will not allow it because that would block them from ever having a chance at playing for a national championship. There will just be another TCU or Boise State to deal with. Teams that don't play against top teams and stack up great records after great records with a upset every now and then. Just enough to raise hell with the big boys. Second, the SEC won't go for it because they would never have more then one team playing for the championship, which will cost them tons of money.
It will end up being a plus one deal, with the top 4 BCS schools. This is the only way that makes sense. You would have a hard time finding a 5th ranked school that really has a true claim to play for the Championship. The 5th place team most likely will have already lose in a head to head with a team that's already playing for the championship making the argument mute!

Just because you think it's total BS, doesn't make it total BS, no matter how many exclamation points you use after saying BS. And no, the ACC really has no grounds to sue the hell out of anyone after Syracuse and Pittsburgh. I can see your mind is made up on this topic though
. There's a reason that there's a $20 million buyout clause, meaning, pay $20 million and you can leave the ACC. There's a reason why FSU voted AGAINST that same buyout clause being $34 million initially like the ACC wanted. So no, there won't be any major lawsuits as long as everything is done accordingly. You will see in due time though.
