I agree with you , Washington was a top 10 guard amongst his junior peers in 2011. Everything I stated was fact not opinion so I don't understand how your comprehension of that alludes to me not know much about football? Washington had a choice, he didn't have to play LT or he could have sulked which probably would have lead to him being suspended/transferring out. If Golden didn't open up a fall competition for the tackle positions we would've been in trouble. Do you think Jacory would've had as good a year as he did with Figueroa or freshman Bunche at LT? Jacory wouldn't have lasted two games. The team is more important than one individual. Orlando Franklin did it the year before going from LG to LT & is now a top 5 RT in the pros (according to ProFootball Focus). Colin McCarthy, Sean Spence, & Denzel Perryman all moved from OLB to ILB for the good of the team. Tim Tebow returned to Florida to become an NFL QB, Urban gave it a whirl but when Tebow didn't develop like he needed to Urban reverted the offense back for the good of the team. College & pro teams do it all the time, here's a sample:

The only person to blame for Brandon Washington's career thus far is Brandon Washington, not Golden. It's all about getting your shot & Brandon had his & still has a chance. Regardless of if where he was drafted, though he was a 6th rounder, he was on a team with the worst offensive line in football & couldn't cut it. Now he's on the Rams with an even more depressing situation at guard. We'll see if he works hard to achieve something in the NFL or just goes down as another failure of the Northwestern eight (save for Spence).

Thus far I agree with you about Golden.being a hardworker, loyal, and decent recruiter but he needs to develop players. Only time will tell as this is only the start of his third season.
