Playboy...usmcccanes..did you ever play??..i played professionally.....no stars dont mean anything...im not sure i was even a star.1 1/2 stars.....it really doesnt mean much because its spring.....but Golden did this last year even switching b washington position a week before the first game..thats what bothers me!.....you get stronger faster and smarter with studying film.and with u tough.....it doesnt make you a better player....talent is natural......deon to me was our best db when healthy period!

Golden said a few years ago that he established his depth chart based upon who performed the best during that phase of training. being that he only had weight room performances to base his depth chart on you can see why some are listed as first team over others.

personally i think this is a good strategy. it doesnt let him play favorites for one. but mostly it allows guys to come in and just plain outwork other guys to show what they can do with the first team squad. imagine how much more effective a RB can be playing with an experienced Oline or how solid a LB can look if he has a stout Dline in front of him.

this is a carbon copy of the events that took place last year. the workout warriors started on the first team and by the time the season rolled around the guys with more talent/ instinct won out.

You're working under the assumption that this is the first time these guys are seeing their evaluations quantified. They've been evaluating them since the 2012 season ended and the kids have known where they stand many times since then. It's not mind games if there's transparency. Also, you're assuming future earnings are dictated by past preformances. That doesn't work either. How do you know that today (03/02/13) Deon is better than AJ? If this time last year I would have said Brandon McGee would contend for All-ACC and possibly be a 2nd-3rd round pick I would have been told to GTFO! Right now everyone is day-to-day. Even Duke! Once the season starts it's a different story. Positions need to be solidified so they can concentrate more on preparation. You're making a mountain out of a mole hill. Everyone knows the depth chart is fuild right now.

You're incorrect in this. Washington practiced at LT & RT leading up to the season in a competition to see who were the best five offensive lineman. Washington actually started & played the entire first game vs Maryland at RT while Joel Figueroa started at LT. It was the next game Washington was moved to LT permanently & he played very well for us. There is nothing wrong with that, Golden did what's best for the team & if Washington wouldn't have foolishly left early he could've developed into a day two LT in the draft. If pieces don't fit you have to move them around until they do.

@ smadison....whatever your name is.....how about you ask washington......the dude was a premiere guard....and move him why? And then say oh hes battling for tje LT or RT position??? If that makes sense to you...then it explains to me you dont know very much about football...when kids come to play football at a University....its just not all about the University...its the kids future you have to consider also....golden didnt take that kid future into.consideration period! Put your son or family member in that situation and tell me if you would say.the same thing????
