    And I quoate from TOS: Coach Al Golden told the Miami Herald on Thursday that the team will have yet another transfer on board in 2011. The team has added cornerback Mike Williams, who transferred from Wake Forest.

    Homey, when did UM become "start over" U! You Like AG and I like AG. However, it does not mean we have to agree with every move he makes.

    I'd rather take that scholly and give it to a HS recruit or a JUCO, not someone that quit on his team!

    I thought the Forcier move was suspect! I think this move is Suspect! Forcier helped us out and shook the spot!

    I will support the kid now that he is part of the program, but the move is suspect based on the kid's history!

    According to AG and staff its the right move. This guy did not even step foot on the field or finish the season yet and you killing him like you did the other day. With our CB depth and just about everyone leaving and possibly will be more, we need him. AG and U Tough will have him where he needs to be. Mike has a frame of mind and a new confience level that he can get it done now and AG and staff will praise him and let him know when he is doing wrong. This is a start over moment for him and he will help lead this team to a ACC and Nat ship. Then you will be back praising AG/Staff and Mike Williams.AG has a plan and goals for this team.

    Step away from the Kool-Aid and seek immediate medical attention. I agree with you that we should critique Wake Forest's BACK-UP cornerback at the end of the season, but to give Mike Williams the Jim Thorpe Award at this time is silly. I think since we have the scholarship available, and because of the transfers and the need for one of the RBs (Chambers or Clement) that converted to CB to return to RB as a result, it isn't a bad scholarship since it's only one-year. I do think that if Williams gets a starting position we aren't going to succeed this year. He may start the year, but if one of the others guys don't replace him by the real beginning of the ACC year (Va. Tech) we will most likely be in trouble.

    Finally someone got to the point. The U is not 'start-over' U, and that's not the point here. We have an underachieving kid with potential and we have a school with scholarships to hand out in 2011 and depth problems at CB. He's a senior, so the worst case is he comes in, stinks up the place, and leaves next year and we replace him with someone in the 2012 class. The best case scenario is he loves the U, gets along well with coached and teammates, transforms himself in the summer and upgrades our starting corners. There's nothing to lose with this move, but a lot to gain.

    Sounds like "Start over U", Homey! LOL I feel you on the one year deal, though. Negatives: He brings his "Quit if I don't Start" mentality with him! I guess AG could always fire him! LOL

Actually, I hear Golden will supplant Carroll into a different role so you can take care of the national recruiting. We're in good hands, people!!! clap

  • I don't see any problem in this. He is coming in as a senior to help out our lack of depth at CB. If he's not good enough to start then he can play special teams. If he doesn't amount to anything then well he's done in one year! We have space because of all the recent transfers. If he wants to be here I say give him a shot. He is coming as a grad student to get his education. We should all be on board with this.

  • anytime we can add veteran depth to an area of weakness its a good thing... if he had the same stats, playing time experience etc but was coming from USC, every1 would be ecstatic.

    Was going to UF when CUM accepted Ryan Smith's transfer from Utah. I remember people going crazy over this "scrub". Well 8 interceptions & a NC later, they loved him... just sayin
