Maybe he can use that athletic skill even more as a LB. In high school he had a 6.4 high jump and 20 foot long jump.

just keep on getting stronger & faster....we need our LB's to be in the 230 to 240 lbs range....then you'll see this defense get a whole lot better...

Linebacker is the hardest position to play on a defense. You have to be very instinctive and read your keys. Pulling guards, counters, and play action are some of the things to defend. I wish him the best but I think he's better suited for D end

He is def very athletic, I do not think he was even serious about track it was just pure athletic ability.

I love everything ab this kid except that damn facemask lol... seriously though, I think he's gonna be a beast a LB and he should still get plenty of opportunities to rush the passer from there even on early downs... I could see us using him much like Denver uses Von Miller...

Unless he can get to 250 or so he is no match going up continually against 300 + Offensive Tackles...it just saps the strength out of him fending off in running plays, play after play......at LB he will not be locked up on the OTs and can use his athletic ability to go around them.

Muhammad isn't 250 either but watch the difference he has technique to fend off tackles and better pass rush ability

I always thought that was his best position.
I put him at LB on NCAA.
I like the two deep we develop.
Eddie Johnson - Raphael Kirby
Denzel Perryman - Jawand Blue
Tyriq McCord - Alex Figueroa

I think this guy will be be okay at linebacker.. If you can read a the LOS you definitely should be able to read the blockers in the open field.

I personally think he's gonna be a good backer...great I don't know yet but if he's sub 4.6 like I believe he has the speed. Last year against OL's will only help him this year against TE and if he does get a OL on him he will have a running start at them instead of out of a stance...I think he might be exactly what MT6 would've been so I believe this was a good move...whoever wins out between him and A. Fig will be a baller..not to mention when/if Eddie comes back our LB's will be on point!!

You're comparing McCord to a kid that hasn't graduated high school yet. I'm pretty positive McCord goes up against better and much stronger Offensive linemen. Lol
McCord and Muhammad were pretty much identical prospects coming out of high school. Both McCord and Muhammad will never be every down DE.
