Jacory Tweet

  • RT @12JHarris12: Everybody wants to ride a train w/ momentum but how many people are willing to push it when it stops. It's time to get my momentum back!

  • Looks like Goldens positive attitude is rubbing off on him a bit... he would have never tweeted that if Shannon was still here!! Hopefully with a new attitude comes a new QB this year... he has the potential just think it was more mental than anything else last year!!

  • sure, his confidence was shattered but how many times did Whipple put him into situations that he didn't need to be in at the time. I think the kid has what it takes to be a good college QB. Hopefully this new regime can work with him/both (qb's) and the mechanics will come toghether.

  • Great sign of good things happening!!!

  • There is nothing mental about the balloon he throws up in the air. If seen him throw way too many interceptions I am done with him and hopefully AG saw enough at the bowl game.

  • To me he was put in bad situations. With the rb's we have there is no reason harris should have threw as much. We should have ran for over 250 a gm and that would have taken the pressure off Harris. If he is gonna be our QB next yr he needs to put more zip on the ball to be successful. I am done with the soft throws...throw that ball in there son!

  • Jacory is who he is. What makes anyone think that after three years he is going to start throwing the ball with some zip??? He has had more then enough chances, it's time to move on. Morris has to be the QB for this team.

Im not saying by any means that Jacory should get the nod before Morris.. all im saying is with the new coaching an attitude you never know what can happen. I have a feeling Morris is going to be the starter come season, but let the best man win!! Either way I hope they both get a lot better under the new coaches and it would be good to have Jacory on the bench to come in incase Morris gets hurt... either way I'm a cane fan and want what's best for the team... and what we have right now is Jacory and Stephen and by them both competiting and getting better will on be beneficial for the team. So rather than bash them like the old regime I'm going to support them like the new regime is going to do as well and bring a positive attitude this year and hope they both work their ass off in the spring and come ready to play next season!!!

  • Sounds like he is getting some confidence back. Hope he is hitting the gym like a crazy man cause he needs to bulk up some. Yes, he tends to try to put TOO MUCH touch on alot of throws and that gets him in trouble. He looks his best when he sets and steps into the throw. He has plenty of arm and talent but he has to use it. I would like to see him turn it around and have a great year. I hope he is putting in the work and I think he doesn't have a choice under AG. He will sit otherwise. The question will be what will happen when that first interception is thrown if he does get the starting nod. He can't play looking at the sidelines to see if Morris is checking in. I don't think Morris can do that either. No matter what, I am a huge fan and hoping that we put it all together. If this team plays to its talent level every week then we should be BCS bound IMO.

  • Wait... are we for real here?? Last year was the first time he started throwing interceptions at an alarming rate. If memory serves me correct we didn't lose games his sophomore year because of him. He can get better in a SYSTEM something similar to a West Coast or a Brian Billick power offense. Allow him to get the ball out of his hands quickly and not throw the ball deep 90% of the time. AND how often did he give our receivers a chance to make a play and they didn't. Let's not forget what we saw in him early in his career. I also think that thumb has something to do with the way he throws the ball.

  • Jacory needs a QB coach. He has a strong arm but rarely throws that laser over the middle or down field. All he needs is his confidence back & his HS classmate receivers to step up. It's baffling at how long the four of them (Jacory, Aldarius, Streeter, & Thompkins) have been together & have so little production three years in.

SMadison29 you are right man. Jacory has an arm and just needs the proper coaching, I saw too many times when throwing the ball, Jacory standing up tall or off his back foot and just using all arm. Didn't see him step into many throws, and that's coaching to me. Plus with that terrible play calling. I could see Whipple's plays in my sleep, Max protection 2 deep routes with no check downs! Plus no TE's that could get open. How many times did that play have to get picked off before we take a different approach?! What a nightmare. Decision making can be a problem with any young QB's and can be fixed. Plus the beating he was taking from his own fans really got to him I believe, because you can see that his confidence was shot. A fresh start with this new staff could be a blessing for him and I hope so because he's a good kid.

  • And btw, there's no play call in anyone's book that says throw the ball fifty yards downfield right to the safety. It's called THROW THE FUCKER AWAY!

  • The main problem Jacory had this season was having too much confidence in his receivers. Boss receivers would love to have a qb like j12, because he gives them the oppotunity to catch the ball. Yeah he threw some bad pics, but yeah our receivers also played soft as hell. We don't attack the ball, we want the ball to land in our arms like a loaf of bread. I remember when we bashed florida in the Sugar bowl. Najeh Davenport absolutely took a bAll from the db and scored. That is one of the most memorable plays to me as a canes fan. That is what our attitude should be at receiver, "GIVE ME THAT BALL CHUMP!!!!!

    BozCane

  • Boz, totally remembered that play. I was about to be pissed cuz Dorsey wasn't playing particularly well and I thought I was about to see an interception in the end zone. But instead Najeh came up with it. Awesome. Just awesome.

  • Can Jacory be taught all these fundamentals in one spring?

Boz you are correct about that too. He had way too much confidence in those guys and they kept letting him down.

Coach you are correct but how many times does it take before you change the play when you see it's not working? Like BozCane touched on as well some of those balls were taken right away from the receiver. No one is talking bad about it if our guy comes down with the ball.

  • undoubtably, Jacory has talent, he's shown it. I agree that most of his errors in judgement could be chalked off to lack of confidence/mental. Confidence is a huge factor, as is attitude. I feel that Jacory on too many occasions had the nonchalant attitude of RS. When Jacory's back was to the wall, many times he came through. When he felt the pressure, he performed. However, there was too many times, he acted as if there was no pressure at all and he put us in a hole we couldn't climb out of. Being calm under pressure is one thing, but not getting up for a football game or acting like you don't absolutely need to perform at your peek, is another. Sometimes, I swear it seems as if Jacory (and the rest of the team for that mattter) had prepped themselves to attend a bake sale, not a football game. in the old days, the guys would be bouncing around on the sidelines, cause they couldn't sit still - this past year it seemed like they were bouncing around in a futile attempt to wake themselves from their slumber. My point is, a coaching staff with the right attitude (which I believe we have) can take the talent that we already have and by lighting a fire under their ass; the sky is the limit. when it's all said and done, I want the best QB on the field that no longer is the one that will help us or give us the best chance to win, I want the best QB on the field that WILL win games for us. Come September if that QB is JH12, then I'm rooting for JH12. I don't see why a new attitude and work ethic between now and then can't make that difference.

i think it had more to do with the plays called and the situations that they forced him into.
