It was the night when we played florida 2003. I was only 10 years old and I hated watching anything but cartoons and m stepdad made me watch the game. I really didint understand what was going on but I knew we were losing. THE ORANGE BOWL WAS GOING CRAZY!!! All my stepdad said was dont worry the 4th quarter is were we dominate. Touchdown after Touchdown I felt like I was apart of them on the field Going crazy. It was truly the night were I fell for the program. Just to see some of the kids just like me from the hood doing what they loved and showing out. Most of all showing out and handling business at the same time thats what makes you a hurricane.
I was born a cane and I have pics of myself in cane onesies and cane bibs but I can't ever forget th pure joy I felt when we won it all in 01 I was 11 and than 1 year later I remember jumping up out of my seat a couple times screaming for joy thinking we won it all again than finally after rejoicing for what seemed like an eternity I see a little yellow flag come out and I started a one month deep depression where I couldn't keep food down... Yeh that night is the night I realized it ran deep ... Here I am 22 many broken possessions and holes in the walls and I can truly say I know my veins run with orange and green... I also remember when I was about 8 I would doodle in class and what else would a cane doodle in school but the U but I couldn't remember which side of the U had which colors so I went home that night and created a corny little jingle that I remember til this day...."left side orange right side green, that's the way we build our team!" haha
Nice topic by the way my brother
I was about 15, and believe it or not I had paid very little attention to college football, I was all pros, betting money in pools since 5 lol, then one day when I realized I had a chance to play college football I started paying attention, my mom went to Killian high in Miami and she my friends turned me on to Miami, she said the way the played and how I played there was no way I wouldn't like them. So I got to watch butch Davis in 99-00 season bring us up into national prominence again, and grew an immediate hatred towards fsu and Florida.. I would find my self up late at night researching the history of Miami and those qho played before and those who were in the NFL I knew I was hooked on Miami and it was all about the U. I loved my canes ever since my sophomore year in high school!
Mine isn't the most glamorous or since I was born, but my mom a Floridian Miami native turned me on because of my own style of play.
Miami Academics>UNC akedemics
For me it was Wide Right 1, watching Bobby Bowdens face look dumb founded as teh Canes stormed the field was priceless lol hands on his hips just looking like he did not know what just happened lol
After the game he gave his not famous quote ""I think the curse is they're on our schedule. They're going to chisel on my tombstone, 'At least he played Miami."
We would not even be Da U if not for games like that.
Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery; None but ourselves can free our minds.
Boston college at Miami. me first game at the OB.
McGahee had a beast game.
University of Miami Class of 2013
I became a huge fan of the orange and green during the 1990 season. I was in eighth grade. Even though we lost to the golden bloomers that year. Mr. Thrill hill doing the emphamous 6 shooter and the longhorn slaughter sealed the deal for me. Still 1 of my favorite games of all time
