I'm willing to bet Shalala and the schools attorneys have a good idea of what we are going to get. The NCAA probably gave them 2 scenarios of what penalties they will hand down. One scenario if we self impose another bowl ban (which we did). And one scenario if we didn't self impose a bowl ban. I'm sure the decision made will lessen the penalties quite a bit. There has already been a lot of damage done with the waiting game and giving up 2 bowls. Now all the NCAA will do is hand some scholly reductions and probation down IMO.

You can't take a bowl ban until bowl eligible. What good is it to announce your taking a bowl ban, then don't even get eligible. So you announced you're going to penalize yourself but then in the end you didn't.

Yup. Say we did self impose a bowl ban at the beginning of the year and went 5-7. Well the NCAA wouldn't even take that bowl ban into consideration. By becoming bowl eligible and then self imposing a bowl ban, the NCAA is seeing that we are sacrificing money and cooperating to lessen penalties handed down from them.

If that happens I honestly wouldn't be surprised if there was a substantial lawsuit filed against the NCAA for unethical procedures. 2 years and you don't find anything yet you just keep drawing it out for what? Wrongful punishment? Sure you could say that we self imposed the penalties however that's because we were led to believe the hammer would come down.
I doubt this is all the case but I gotta think that would happen should there be hardly any findings. Also we could sue Yahoo for libel along with ESPN for hurting our image and any other media outlet. For dragging us through the mud.
