HOW MUCH WOULD IT SUCK??? IF........

  • I'm willing to bet Shalala and the schools attorneys have a good idea of what we are going to get. The NCAA probably gave them 2 scenarios of what penalties they will hand down. One scenario if we self impose another bowl ban (which we did). And one scenario if we didn't self impose a bowl ban. I'm sure the decision made will lessen the penalties quite a bit. There has already been a lot of damage done with the waiting game and giving up 2 bowls. Now all the NCAA will do is hand some scholly reductions and probation down IMO.

one problem with that if they gave the options then no more canes would get interviews i heard that they want to end the investigation this week but if they give 2 scenarios then they would have their info and give the punishment by next week but still nobody knows when we going down im telling you they dont have much but they know they have to get us with something or they look like dumbasses and get lawsuits

I agree GO on them hurting us on letting this just linger on. Look how many top guy's we lost last year because FSU -UF -VT-GT all these schools could negative recruit us & it worked to a point. But we did lose out on some top guy's that if that wasn't a story-we would have had a top 5 class easily. The NCAA is just hurting us letting this crap just loom over this program instead of just coming out & say-"WELL, WE HAVE DONE AN EXTENSIVE INVESTIGATION ON THE UNIV. OF MIAMI & OUR FINDINGS ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE OF WHAT WAS ONCE REPORTED WHEN THE STORY CAME OUT" They won't do that but they should. They are gonna do everything they can to cover their azzes & make theirself still look like a top notch ran organization which IMO needs to be dis banned. CFB needs to come up with a better scenario than this & have an organization that-when this story first hit -OH MY GOD-IT WAS LIKE THE WORLD WAS COMING TO AN END & NOW-IT'S NOT ANYTHING BUT A BUNCH OF BS RECEIPTS FROM A BOWLING ALLEY & STUPID CRAP LIKE THAT. They just need to come on with it, admit that their findings was nothing close to what the Univ of Miami was accused of from a Yahoo reporter & a little stoolie who lied through his teeth in court on his scam & on this story too. So it's just time for the NCAA to man up & let AG get a handle on this & let us move forward. Their worst nightmare is though that, Miami is gonna come back with a vengeance & possibly win another NC in a couple years & that's the last thing they wanna see but, they won't be able to stop it once they finally get this over with cause we have a coach who is a s competitive as any coach in America & when this story is finally over, then CFB is gonna see the "U" come back fast & hard & just how good AG can recruit without his hands being tied. That is their biggest fear.

  • The NCAA and UM have been working together on the investigation. I'm sure UM has a very good idea of what they've been found guilty of. The school would not miss out on millions of dollars on a hunch. IJS.

but to me it isnt much because it wouldnt take this long to decide they wouldve took the bowl ban way back instead of do it now and feel like the players did this all for nothing so i think they are sure no more bowl bans just a few schollies hell if it was alot of schollies about to be lost golden would say scholarships will be low for a fact he hasnt even said that

The school was waiting to see if we would even become bowl eligible. That's why they waited.

You can't take a bowl ban until bowl eligible. What good is it to announce your taking a bowl ban, then don't even get eligible. So you announced you're going to penalize yourself but then in the end you didn't.

Yup. Say we did self impose a bowl ban at the beginning of the year and went 5-7. Well the NCAA wouldn't even take that bowl ban into consideration. By becoming bowl eligible and then self imposing a bowl ban, the NCAA is seeing that we are sacrificing money and cooperating to lessen penalties handed down from them.

  • no i mean before the season because it was year into it and if there was and sign we were in trouble we had to do it early and then that eases the investigation and maybe we get the lesser penalty during the season i get what you're saying but it isnt against the rules to do that is it?

I thought about that too, it is a good point. My response: If we had done it, several players would also have been able to transfer and you have to think a lot of them would have taken the opportunity (happens every time). Then, if we did go 4-8, the transfers are to blame.
I don't know if there is a right answer to when to do it. But it's been done, we now move on.

  • Y are you guys sayn ncaa has no evidence when u don't even kno what's going on behind closed doors? In big cases like this you have people called "snitches" ever heard of them? U better blieve some people have snitched and jus becuz we havnt heard about it does not mean it's not going on...we are in the blue of everything, we don't kno what's going on so 2 say they don't have evidence is bull...players didn't talk but were talkn bout 8-9 years of this stuff that was going on so u better blieve it's a couple birdies on the low that has this investigation ongoing...there's poeple talkn but we will never kno who exactly, that's how it is in these situations... I just hope we make it thru this and get this behind us bcuz our future is so bright starting next year

If that happens I honestly wouldn't be surprised if there was a substantial lawsuit filed against the NCAA for unethical procedures. 2 years and you don't find anything yet you just keep drawing it out for what? Wrongful punishment? Sure you could say that we self imposed the penalties however that's because we were led to believe the hammer would come down.

I doubt this is all the case but I gotta think that would happen should there be hardly any findings. Also we could sue Yahoo for libel along with ESPN for hurting our image and any other media outlet. For dragging us through the mud.

    Hey Scott...

I agree. However, it's all over. We admitted to all the allegations by taking the second bowl ban. The ncaa (national colleges against athletes) is now free to hit us VERY hard. And they don't have to justify it because we admitted guilt.
