Goldman Puts Recruiting on Hold

  • You guys list Myron Rolle who played out of position his whole career, Lorenzo Booker who was coached by Jeff Bowden and Jacobbi McDaniel who has been hurt his whole career. I doubt guys like Christian Ponder, Rodney Hudson, and Xavier Rhodes would all agree going to FSU was the best thing that has happened to them.

Miami leading receiver at TE: 18 receptions 172 yards 1 TD

    Nick O'Leary: 12 receptions 164 yards 1 TD.

So the difference between a first round pick and ruining a career is 6 receptions and 8 yards?

Quick name five former FSU tight ends.......that don't currently work at Walgreens.

So the precedent set for the difference between a first round pick and ruining a career is what players at his same postition did over the last 10 years under different coaching staffs?

Different coaching staffs? You cant possibly be referring to the Bobby Bowden tenure as simply another coaching staff. And yes that is the precedent, what the hell else could the precedent be? The price of gasoline over the last ten years?

  • I normally don't bash other teams, but you guys have NO leg to stand on if your comparing talent in the NFL, and players with *'s that did diddly poo in their career. Just saying.nono

Wow...reading through the posts on this page makes it look like this is FSU's board....

Far to many Nole hypocrites. they suggest that we are so irrelevant, yet infest our site, and monitor our posts like they are Justin bieber groupies. I suppose it's always nice to have groupies.

You guys are on the bloody moon. Really? You HONESTLY think Eddie Goldman is going to forego his ability to play for a top-5 defense, play in BCS bowl games, and play in relevant, nationally televised games..... just to play second tier football in your rented stadium.... the one that's not on campus.... in a town that doesn't care about its team anymore?

Get real. The kid is going to dominate the middle with Jernigan, or whatever grown-ass-man the Tide lines up next year. Your chances.... MAYBE 15%.

You're out of your mind if you think that a close win against an overhyped has-been (UM, ND...) constitutes a victory of substance. And don't even dream of putting FSU in the same category as Bama. As far as I'm concerned, we're both in the middle of the ACC looking up.

"...play in BCS bowl games..." That's funny. The last time that happened was the 2005 season. Is that really a measure of relevance- or a recruiting selling point (that the last sniff of the national stage was a loss to a Big Ten team when your recruits were about to hit puberty)? Don't get me wrong- Miami is no closer to the promised land. But you're barking up the wrong tree if you think that either of our fanbases regard meaningless bowl appearances with anything but a shrug. For UM and FSU, it's always been about being #1.

And I've heard your baseless, trite litany of complaints re: UM's football program more times than you care to know. Newsflash: none of us give a shit. Go pop some champagne about the bowl win or play pocket-pool whilst reading a Scout/Rivals article about your recruiting class. I really don't want to see your poorly-written negativity on our boards.

    Go Canes.

...Give me one squad with all of your mentioned parameters that can take that class, and I'll never post again...

Keep in mind that some NFL squads wouldn't measure up to the talent level on that 2001 Canes team.

  • Noles fans only come on here and bash us when something good happens to them bc it doesn't happen that often. Unless you count their recruiting classes, which usually bust anyway. And is it a coincidence that they decide to talk trash when our program is at an all time low? I don't think so. All this is out of pure jealousy, bc even when our program is in the dump(only for a season or two bc of NS), we are STILL in the conversation of being a better program and school than FSWho. It's not even close, they can say whatever they want, but FSU didn't change the landscape of CFB with their play in the 80's, isn't internationally known as "THE U," doesn't have 5 NC's, doesn't have more pro players than us, doesn't have the record for most consecutive 1st rd picks, and never got close to having a former player score an NFL TD in 149 straight weeks, which is still streaking btw. Just get over yourselves, stay on your own board, and quit living off of our misery just to compensate for your lack of a big-time cfb team. Go wallow in your own pity, instead of try to unsuccessfully bring us DOWN to YOUR level...besides, it's not like we can give back 3 of our NC's to be even with you anyway...

  • This has to be the most mind numbing thread I've read to date... Seriously. Both sides. Please. Make it stop. They're gonna think they have a better shot at Goldman. They're going to think we are the worst team to step foot on the field. We think they don't stand a shot at Goldman. We think they are a gigantic bust. Ok. We get it. The line has been drawn in the sand. Ok? Can we PLEASE for the LOVE OF GOD just call it quits now?? -.-

  • Wow, I come back from vacation to this?

Heard on Facebook FSU beat Notre Dame - congratulations.

I find it hypocritical that the FSU board is traveling over to the Miami board and talking trash. Combine that with the being over optimistic about getting recruits, the FSU future, and "how far" FSU is ahead of Miami makes it hilarious. Apparently Miami fans are delusional. But that "top-tier" coaching staff of yours still has a lot to do with this FSU program to return it to consistent relevancy. Until FSU can stop choking every year against sub-par teams, FSU is not that far ahead of Miami whether you want to think so or not.

  • The funny part about these guys is the story changes. I dont think we will land Golden but on our board it is you had the refs help you. On the UF board duvalnoles says " we played Miami and UVa and they both brought their A game". Anywho....refs helping games isnt anything new to us. But think if refs were always on our side....NCs would be U 7 FSU 2. Sooooo do you really want a perfect world???? It would make our dominance look that much better. Tell you guys what....go win a third NC, then and only then you can come on our board and talk a little. At least Florida is in the ballpark with three. EJ Manuel is the next Cam Newton....hahahahabhahabahahabababhahahahababahahhahahaha....lol. hahahabhahahha. Quote of the year!
