probably about as many that were excited to coach
Miami when we fired shannon.........
SELLOUT- See Above ^
Can we please for the love of god stop this silly thread!
It's all about the U!
I don't understand it. I'm not wealthy by any stretch of the imagination but money just is not a motivator for me.
...........Even sponge knows its about the U
Man oh man...I don't even know where to start. Ok, I honestly believe that Al will stay, however, he was dealt a sick hand. For all of his efforts with this hand he gets plastered by Alumni and fans, they act as if he screwed up the 91 Canes team. Not fair to the guy at all.
Now, there is an SEC team calling, they have a fist full of dollars, insane fan base, facilities that trump a lot of pro teams, they can get top flight players (Al can recruit), no NCAA!
I love UM with all of my heart, but, until we can it least accommodate close to other big boy schools, why wouldn't any coach look at another school. We have the worst fans (maybe Eagle fans are worse), the city jacked our stadium and gave it to the highest bidding charlatan, that in turn got the crabby fans to pay for it. Do you guys realize that UT let Dooley design some of their new Athletic Center (rinse that around in your mouth a little), the UT coach is a kid in a candy store, just as long as you bring home a good report card.
As I was walking around the PX, I was really trying to figure whom, IF, Al would leave, will fill his spot? All I know is, IF, he leaves, they better bring in a Tier one guy, don't care who, but he better have won something at this or the NFL level. We can't afford another experimental, "give ya a shot", "he will grow" type of guy. We need a proven winner that has experience at the college level (different monster).
I prefer somebody with Tennessee ties like Three 6 mafia
. I work to make money not to please 500 fans.
Top 5 facilities (maybe top 3) in CFB. Die hard fanbase. 100,000 strong on Saturdays. Resources to hire any staff he wants. Playing in the SEC. No sanctions. No Shalala.
Money is the icing on the cake.
Golden is better then Jimbo... I feared it was true. He is going to hoist a crystal ball there - fsufsu
Jimbo rumors and Golden rumors... fun times for the Canes and Noles..... do either leave? To the SEC nonetheless
Miami is a better place to live
Miami has a much fertile recruiting ground.
expectations are a bit lower in Miami because the school isn't only about football or athletics.
Miami is a higher profile job. if you can do it here, you can do it anywhere.
University of Miami Class of 2013
If Al leaves... and I don't believe he will, but if he does then the only logical choice for a replacement would be someone with Hurricane Blood(Past). With all that we're going through its going to take that to navigate these times..
Great Post... Right Huh.. Fun times for all..
Btw we will see what AG's word is all about.. This is almost an impossible job to turn down.
I still think he stays.... but I think AG hung the moon so I'm a little biased.
Well... Remind urself to put that in your resume and see how far that gets you..
I believe these reports and think he is gone, REASON, Miami is crap....
ESPECIALLY THE FANS....(AWFUL)
+1 for No Shalala
If Al leaves we are crushed. Done for at least 5 years.
Cross them fingers.
Who cares about a rabid fanbase? All they do is complain. If he was to leave I would be beyond disappointed because that means the U will take even longer to come back if at all.
Money can change people and there thoughts. I hope he stays but if he wants to leave so be it. Were are the U and we will be back on top.
U guys R 4getting that Herbstriet said he knew at least a 1/2 dozen big name coaches that wanted the Miami job way b4 Golden's name surfaced. No way Hocutt was gonna offer a bigger & better name than golden when he knew all along he was headed to Texas tech.
Crushed is an understatement! It will show that the school doesn't put a premium on football. I went on a rant last week talking about the admin, I love what they do for the school (over all) but, we are no where near the top or middle with regards to managing the program.
And the private vs public school debate is really invalid because Miami has loads of money and alumni. The school ust does not care about the football program and never really did. They were always lucky they had the perfect location for talent
There are could be serious sanctions for them if they mess up, they are currently on probation
Esdsall was in the running....he didn't turn out well at Maryland.....I guess Kirk had info we never heard.
Per Blake James on 560 he trusts AG will be here for the foreseeable future. Also he said there is no escape clause in his contract.
