### Though UM’s Shane Larkin said last month he will return for his junior year, he deflected that question Thursday, and a UM source said the coaching staff isn’t certain he’ll be back. ESPN’s Chad Ford rates him 37th among all draft-eligible prospects, adding: “If he were a few inches taller [than 5-11], he would be a lottery pick.”
### The UM early enrollee drawing the most raves? First-team linebacker Alex Figueroa - and that was even before he impressed everyone with his instincts, hard hitting and coverage skills in Saturday's scrimmage. "He’s smart, tough, will be good in coverage, is stout against the run and a good blitzer,” coordinator Mark D’Onofrio said…. Coaches says Ladarius Gunter has emerged as UM’s best cornerback, with Tracy Howard and Antonio Crawford battling for the other starting spot and Nate Dortch running fourth.

### An NCAA source says UM sent a strongly worded letter to the NCAA essentially saying that it reserves the right to sue the NCAA (that’s considered a last resort) and disputing the NCAA claim that the infractions committee doesn’t have the right to dismiss the case, which UM will formally request this week.

I really think Shane needs one more year in college, before he makes that jump. I just feel he needs to get a lil stronger before going up against the NBA, night in and night out! I think he will be a hell of a player in the league, but I just dont want him to get beat up in the NBA.
I think Alex is a talent but still too early, I for one will wait to I see some games before I say this guy or that guy.
As far as the NCAA , Miami needs to send a message cause like everyone else we all see the NCAA is full of shyt regarding Miami.
Shane needs to develop a bit more IMO. He has really started to come into his own, but still needs to refine his decision making a bit. Alex just needs to keep following his instincts. He will definitely evolve more and become a force. His frame will allow him to add the needed weight to make any RB think twice about running in his direction. The NCAA is a sewer system of lies, deceit, and corruption. I think the letter sends the clear message we are not playing around and the charade that the NCAA is holier than thou is over.
The NBA is filled with guards who are not big at all coming out kyrie Irving, Seth curry, even Avery Bradley. His size is not the issue as good as he played this year he lacks consistency with his decisions and can be sporadic at times. I agree tho another year is needed bc he can refine those and it ain't like he need money his father is a HOF'er
all those guys you described are 6'2 or taller. his size is the issue cause he will have problems guarding the bigger pg in the leauge and lacks versatility to guard more than one postion.
I would continue to learn and expand my game while making $$$$$.
No I did not lose a sig bet, but I am really really really ridiculously good looking.
exactly get paid while u can. durand scott was a projected first round pick after his freshman year now hell be lucky to get drafted in second..
True I didn't realize they were that big, but I don't think that would necessarily hinder him. As far as getting paid while refining skills I agree take the money while u can just saying for him he don't need the money
I love Larkin. GREAT player. But the NBA is a league that would rather have the pretty girl that is shallow vs. the ok looking girl with substance. Shane is an exagerated 5'11. He is a late second round at best which means no gauranteed contract. I am by know way saying he can't make it in the league. He needs to get one year out of the way then take the leap. I know his dad wants him to at least get close to his degree. No sense in leaving for a 2nd round grade.
