    Linda,

Calm down lady. The only thing more ignorant than criticism from an armchair quarterback who never coached/recruited or played Level 1 sports...

is a pontificating journalist with her head where the sun doesn't shine. Which are you?

    Carter and sometimes Bill Baskin

I still can't get over the fact that she wanted the University to remove the Hurricane name after Hurricane Andrew. That was a classic!

  • The South Florida sports media overreacts to everything. Imagine the indignation that would come from the Miami Herald if U.M. *didn't* offer Golden a contract extension. The Herald is always looking for something to criticize, even if the positions it takes are completely unfair.

On the other hand, at least the Herald employs professional journalists. The Sentinel's beat writers are always two days late to the punch, and they employ Omar Kelly, who lacks the skills to work for a good college newspaper.

  • what is with this ridiculous infatuation with Harris? People say he was a great QB, he wasnt...people say he was a great leader, he wasnt...he seems like a decent guy and he did handle the criticism ok, but he deserved every bit of criticism regarding his play so he should have taken it and listened to it. you cant play like he did and expect to fly under the radar. his only other alternative was to go all Ryan Leaf on everyone, which was a small victory that he didnt. REgarding the reporter, its hard to take a journalist seriously when she doesnt know when to use a question mark or get basic facts correct (Harris wasnt in the heisman conversation as a freshman). Im sure the timing of it was to squash anymore talk of him leaving after this final game, not to take the spotlight of Miami's horrible performance. it sure didnt take my mind of it anyways.

Yes...I pretty much agree with what you say.

Regarding him being a leader, well...whatever his faults as a performer, we've gotta give him credit for his not going public with complaints. He sucked it up publicly and that is fundamental to leading.

Regarding his performance, I agree with many who post here with the question "What could have been?" If he had consistency at off coordinator and coaching. He killed it in high school which leads me to think the potential was there. Yes?

  • Linda Linda Linda... She must of schooled Omar Kelly another dope... We must have the worst sports writers in the country... The Herald is really a joke...
