They won't know. The number one answer will likely be "Anything but the 2-gap system"
"There's going to be a lot of people who didn't stand with us who are going to be remembered for not standing with us." - Al Golden
Meh. Al could work it.
I'm not a coach D hater or lover. But it's a legitimate question if he leaves for temple. Btw you see my suggestion.
He'll give Shalala a few of his tips on how he keeps such awesome volume in his hair. And she will be ok with it no doubt.
Anyone think Ed Orgeron would be interested in coming back?
Stanford's dc. Don't know his name but he got them big azz white boys ballin!!!
Do you like big azz white boys?
Mike Barrow it's his time and we need him more than we think!!!!
Until he teaches the linebackers how to cover I'd like him to refrain from being our DC.
Mario Cristobal or Kevin Patrick would be great imo apparently Mario only made around 600,000 we could come close to that i would think
Safe to Say This is Safety U Respect it
Mario isn't a defensive coach. I wouldnt mind seeing him at UM if Art left one day though.
TCU's DC. He actually had the youngest Defense in the Nation. Yet, they only surrendered 323 yards per game in 2012.
RS There is no denying his results. Miss me with the burning bridges BS. He would be the DC, not HC. Coordinators get their marching orders from the HC. If Golden can bring Kehoe back, then RS would be a great hire.
Gene Chizic, once he is cleared, which he will.
South Carolina's DC
Mike Stoops (the one on OU's staff)
Just to name a few.....
Chizik would be great but AU is paying him 50k a month to sit at home. Why give that up?
It would probably be Barrow to be honest. Winston Moss would be great but he might want to stay in the NFL
I am a coach D Hater and I will except any coach that can actually stop other teams on third down. A coach who can hold the other team under 500 yards and 30 points. A coach whose defense shows improvement throughout the year. A coach that doesn't blame his players for being out of position every week but just can't seem to fix the problem.
Im neither I'll give him one more year if he doesn't improve next year than I'd say get rid of him..
sssssoooooooo, you mean we need a dcoord who can sprinkle pixie dust on all the players and make them older, stronger and better without going through real game experience.
let me think back to the late 70s and 90s before miami won their last nat'l champ with ed reed, etc...guess pixie dust wasn't invented yet. they actually went through growing pains and learned how to hate losing.
unfortunately, the canes roster was an absolute disaster when golden arrived, sorry, but this is the reality of the current program. things were both good and bad this yr, but we still won the coastal. we put the majority of pressure on players who never redshirted or went through spring practice or utough...
thanks to all those who continue to beat a dead horse with the same topic...keep up the hate or just find another bandwagon
Have you ever seen a Miami defense not improve from week 1 thru week 13?? I see if we struggled and gave up these ridiculous numbers in the Big 12 but the ACC? C'Mon. And I guess TCU had the pixie dust sprinkled on them seeing that they are the youngest defense in the country. And oranges 80+ slots ahead of us.
You need to join reality and realize that a good coaches defense would show improvement of some kind. A good coach would make adjustments . Growing pains are one thing but we are talking about one of the worst defenses in the nation. Its not like we played a schedule full of offensive juggernauts. By the way we did not win the coastal and who are you to tell me to change teams just because you have accepted mediocrity.
Michael Barrow is not a game day coordinator. I actually like Randy Shannon, but he burned some bridges that Golden has been re-building, don't know how that would work. Really, I don't want Coach D to leave. I'd like to see what's what. Is he good and didn't have the players? Or is he in over his head with the level of competition now?
I would tell any Cane fan to go back and Watch the Virginia Game, Tell me have you ever seen a Game where a team is about 90% on Third down, I will really take a good look at a lot of Programs to find myself A DC.
There is no way we should have lost that Game, Duke was on Fire, Stephen Morris was hitting on all Cylinders, and you tell me we couldn't get a Stop, Don't blame the youth of this team, Look how Virginia finished they fired 4 coaches and We finish 7-5 you mean to tell me you wouldn't make a Change.
I just looked at the 90s and we never averaged giving up 30 points a game. We were 5-6 in in 97 and still only averaged giving up 24 points a game.
