Just like the rest of you guys, I love Duke and I appreciate what he brings to the program. However, we all seem very willing to overlook his mid-season slump. I understand that he was playing through injury, but that's just football i suppose.
I believe in him, but I think everyone is building up expectations a bit too high. What threshold would you guys consider a "slump?" If he repeats his freshman year stats, what would you think?
Another year in U tough, Full spring and summer practice/workouts. F*&$ a slump this kid works too hard and has to much talent to be held down by anything but injury.
Brick by Brick
"There's going to be a lot of people who didn't stand with us who are going to be remembered for not standing with us,"
True and he can handle workload but coaches will continue to monitor his touches for the longevity of him and they actually care about him outside of football. I don't see a slump and even with a mild injury fell yards just shy of 1000
Highly unlikely... Duke is a special player... he is a 3 and gone...
Did i mention how much Sandland is going to help as well!!!...so excited for our offense
He will have more touches next year, so hell no he doesn't go through a sophomore slump.
The only way he has a slump is if he gets injured.
Returning QB, O-line, and coaches. Slump won't happen. Also he battled turf toe, pretty restricting injury for a RB, takes away ability to cut and explosiveness.
No I did not lose a sig bet, but I am really really really ridiculously good looking.
Sophomore Slumps are excuses for the lazy. Duke is too focused, too humble to not work 110% to get better at his craft
You'll find out in early September
Possible. But the fact that he's been around for a year won't help opponents as much as one might think. He'll have great blocking, his usual elusiveness and unpredictability and a passing game that should be very potent if last year is any indication. He will improve, in my hopeful opinion.
...........Even sponge knows its about the U
regardless of his stats improving or decreasing i don't think it will be considered a slump. i expect the team to continue to improve on all facets. especially if the Dline steps up.
Carter and sometimes Bill Baskin
