I love his motor plays hard but he needs an up and under move in the worst way, he gets way too wide and it actually gives a pocket to the QB. Great kid and decent player so far.
Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery; None but ourselves can free our minds.
Do you think he's doing what he's told to do? I mean engaging 1st and then trying to get around the tackle? Just wondering.
Been saying this for the longest, "CHICK IS NOT A PASS RUSHER" What he needs is to pack on another 15 to 20 pounds and shift inside.
hard to say, he might have an assignment to the outside but watching football for the longest I can tell you he is getting too wide and many great pass rushers always have a great counter to their primary move and Chick lacks that.
I think people forget that he is only a sophomore. Might have hit a sophomore slump but he still has a lot of football left.
No I did not lose a sig bet, but I am really really really ridiculously good looking.
I hear u, makes sense. But I'd be against moving him inside cuz then he'd just be an undersized DT.
I know a lot of people had been upset with him this year, but it's easy to see the bad when you're part of a not so good defense, I'm still very optimistic and was impressed with his game today
Chick will get better.. I'm expecting him to ball out next year.. I actually think it would be better to drop a few pounds if he stays at DE.. May help him gain some quickness
As a former DT who converted to LB. The way we are taught is to engage the OL with hands inside to play run first. As you read pass you dis engage and get up field. Now alot of you on here want them to play gap control and get up field, all that does is create easier blocks for the OL. Yes we use to do it back in the day, but we had athletic DL who could recover and still make plays. We don't have the big agile, fast LB neither to fight off blocks and make plays. So until we do and I think in another two yrs, we will be their. Coach D has to work with what he's got. I also think we played a hell of game on both side of the ball.
I don't know how many of you have watched UCLA this season but they have a player named Cassius Marsh that I think Chickillo should mold his game after. Marsh is like 6-4, 290 and is a pretty effective d-end/tackle.
