A Good reason why the 'Noles only won two Nat'l Championship games
In-state rival Miami was largely the reason FSU didn't win more crystal trophies. In 1987, FSU's only loss was a 26-25 defeat to the Hurricanes. The next season, the Seminoles were ranked No. 1 in the preseason but lost to Miami 31-0 in their opener. Miami beat FSU seven times in eight seasons from 1985 to 1992, with many of those losses costing the Seminoles a chance to play for the national championship.
Fourteen consecutive top-five finishes. Two national championships. The record for most wins in a decade. If we are going to talk about college football dynasties, Mark Schlabach writes, then Florida State of the 1990s has to be on the list.
It's all about the U!
Bowden said. "I used to get mad because nobody else would play Miami. Notre Dame would play them, then drop them. Florida dropped them. Penn State dropped them. We would play Miami and lose by one point on a missed field goal, and it would knock us out of the national championship.
I didn't want to play them, either, but I had to play them. That's why I said, 'When I die, they'll say, 'At least he played Miami.'"
That was my favorite quote of the article
This is the Exact reason noles hate us! This is why they wish sanctions n death penalty upon us. They've had the last few years to try n catch up while we were down, but now were on the rise n they're scared...
Gotta Respect Bowden he is a character...I just hope Saban's jock sniffer Jimbo keeps failing in the clutch cuz if how Free Shoes treated Bobby
Yuo 0 titles in last 10 yrs while Miami struggled.

Right or left or into the middle?
You seem to be confused but its not a riddle
University of Miami Class of 2013
Always much respect for Coach Bowden.... guy is class all the way
Yeah, the sad part is that the best claim they have is that they've won the ACC twice, one in 2005 and just recently,Both times while
everyone in the ACC struggled those two times. FSU boast of beating us over past the three years, ok kudos, you beaten us, not taking
away from that, but you done it when we were down, while we did when you were at your best!
Like coach Bowden said, at least they played us, unlike the Gators... mad respect for Bowden.
Definitely a ton of respect for Bobby Bowden. I wish FSU had treated him better on his way out. It takes guts to build a program by playing any and everybody, and when we were kicking a$$ he still didn't take us off the schedule like every other so called power program did. I feel like both programs are bound to rise up in the future, and the ACC and the NCAA (despite their hatred of us) need it. Miami is the Dark Knight of College football, they want to make us a villain but in reality they need us to be great. Go Canes!
During the 1990s alone, FSU had a 109-13-1 record, the most victories by any team during a decade. Only Oklahoma during the 1950s won a higher percentage of its games (89.5 percent) during one decade than Florida State did during the '90s (88.6 percent).
and half those losses where to us. hahaha
Carter and sometimes Bill Baskin
