Bill O'Brien to Penn State

What are people's opinions on this? I think it's a solid hire. You gotta get a guy that has ZERO affiliation to Penn State and they did. You gotta get a guy that has some guts and is fiery and they did.

It's hard to know how many people really wanted this job, but I think they could have done better. He certainly has a huge mountain to climb, not only is he fighting the Sandusky situation's fallout but he's also going against the alumni too.

Penn State is irrelevant. They didn't even win the Big 10 last year, and they had no commitments in the Under Armour game!

Seriously though, I agree that this is a good hire. Smart guy, successful, big enough name that people will be impressed but not big enough that they're thumbing their noses at the country. I like it. And I love that he graduated from Brown...JoePa's alma mater.
