It's been a weakness the last 2-3 years. Where have you been?
Ray Ray hasn't done crap but make one nice tackle against OU.
Now we get to see what Rodgers, Highsmith and Bush can do.
This isn't that big of a deal IMO. People act like Ray Ray has been a dominant safety for us.

I was really hoping he had turned a corner and the coaches built his skills. Disappointing and depth is a problem.

no real loss here? lets be real last season we didn't have him. he was suspended most of the season. and in the games he did play he really didn't do much. So the defense is already use to playing without him. Let the current players battle it out for the starting position let the best player win the job. 5* doesn't mean shit if you can't get your shit together and its too bad!!

Totally agree. Ray Ray has been a pimp in the EA Sports games, but a bust on the real field.

I agree, he seem to be really working hard and had gotten accolades from the staff during the winter and spring periods. I guess some habits are hard to break. I have never been into social media very much, but I have been involved in a couple of fender benders by people who were. Losing your football scholarship during your senior year has got to be tough. He was one of the few juniors with talent that came back to Miami as a senior because he wanted to be a Cane and complete what he had started. There must have been something serious that the NCAA found out or a significant new violation for him to be dismissed at this time. If there had been a prior serious issue, you would have thought the University would have made their decision earlier so he could have entered the draft. I hope he gets his degree since they are allowing him to do so.

I think Rogers is ready for this challenge, (as long as he doesn't whiff again on a jump ball vs Fsu) And call me crazy but I think Gunter would make a solid safety. He's got length and speed. At least with all our corners coming in, its an option.

I really believe Ray Ray was going to have a good Senior season, but now he's gone... He proved that he wasn't ready to be a leader for this team, because when you make bonehead decisions twice and still have a chance to make a difference for your team... And before your last year, you make another boneheaded decision... Not Good!!!
Honestly, This might not hurt us as bad... He wasn't a main factor here anyway, everyone knew he had the talent to be a college stud, but just never produced on the field...

We weren't going to win anything this year anyway. Just keep distancing ourselves from the bad old regime. Hopefully Deon can seize that spot & get an early start.

Two things:
1) He should transfer. At a new school he can start with a clean slate and a new opportunity.
2) When the secondary gives up plays this season and UM get beat deep, please don't blame Ray-Ray. He won't be there to take the blame.
