There is still a repetition relationship between a max an repetitions. If it were not the case he was almost equaled by Mike James with 28 and mikes best is low 400s. In addition, this guy no doubt had to train for this "endurance" type benching before the combine to some degree as he knew what was expected of him. I knew of a power lifter Orlando who was about 345 pound sat 6.3 or so and his best bench was an official 585 with no shirt done back in the 1980s and I saw him do 315 for 22 reps on a bet one time and this guy was strictly a low rep trainer all the time. He was also able to win the squat in the SE Championships competition with 805 but in the dead lift his hands while large where fleshy and thick and he had a hard time with his grip that limited him to around 730.

600 bench but only 30 reps at combine?
