I wish it wouldn't have happened to him because he seems like a good kidbut this whole class needed to learn that the nfl doesn't just give shit away...its a cruel business and you can't just have one good year and say show me the money...no one should have left early. Streeter made the worst decision hes a fifth or sixth rounder

But if the other option was to go back to school and I could make 5 million a year next year plus there was a high likelihood that the 600 k job would be there next year id probably wait it out. That's essentially the decision he made...the nfl was always going to be there

Except when you blow your knee out and you loose everything! Why is that so hard to understand!

Gore blew out both knees and hes successful. Mcgahee tore every ligament in his knee and hes successful. Cooper got a chance...a blown knee isn't a death sentence. I named three Miami guys alone that came back from a serious injury...name me 3 guys that lost everything because they came back and got injured. Bradford was still the #1 pick coning off an injury too...it barely ever happens its just paranoia. Oh and rg3 too...he blew out his knee and came back. Need more examples? There are 50 times more cases where a guy failed because he left too early than where a guy didn't leave soon enough.

Those are the exception, not the rules! What about Rusty Madearis, Melvin Bratton and a host of others that will never be heard of do to them never making it! You mention Cooper, yet he wasn't even drafted, due to his knee injury and lost hundreds of thousands of dollars!

I'm confused...top 40 school with a ton on connections and people are worried about him blowng out a knee...which one is it get a degree and set yourself for life or leave early and gamble?

Tamp come on man...those were guys that got hurt when the procedures were archaic. Best was drafted high after nasty head injures, because he produced over 2 years. Even if your injured, if you produce over 2 years you have a much better shot in a higher round.

I'm confused also, is there a reason you can't go back to school to get your degree? Plus, I think everyone from Miami has there degree. I guess I'm a lil close to this also, because I blew my knee out after my fresh year and know first hand the pitfalls. To each his own, but I bet few of the people here telling these kids to come back, could pass up the money they will be getting weather it be 1st round or 5th round money!
