The University of Miami continued their ACC dominance on Saturday with a 87-61 victory over North Carolina at home.
The No. 8 Hurricanes (19-3, 10-0) continue their unbeaten record in ACC play with the win over the Tar Heels.
Miami was led by point guard Shane Larkin, who scored 18 points with nine assists. Power forward Kenny Kadji and guard Durand Scott each added 17 points. North Carolina was led by Reggie Bullock's 14 points.
UM was efficient from the floor from the start of the game. The Hurricanes jumped on North Carolina early with a 9-0 run. UNC failed to challenge the Hurricanes for much of the game. Miami shot an impressive 54 percent from the field for the game and converted 15-of-26 three-point attempts.
As good as Miami's offense was, their defense may have been better. The Hurricanes forced North Carolina to make just 38 percent of their shots from the floor. UM also finished the game with six blocks and three steals. The Hurricanes outrebounded North Carolina 38-to-29 for the game.
The Hurricanes will take on Florida State this Wednesday at Tallahassee at 7 PM. The game is scheduled to be shown on ESPN2.
