Olivier Hanlan missed a free throw with a half-second left to give the Miami Hurricanes a 60-59 win and improve to 4-0 in the ACC.
Durand Scott led Miami with 15 points.
Durand Scott knocked down a pair of free throws with 11 seconds left to give Miami a 60-57 lead after Scott drew a player control foul on Joe Rahon near midcourt.
In the closing seconds, Scott fouled Hanlan, who was awarded three free throws. Hanlan knocked down the first two before hitting the front of the rim on his final shot giving Miami the win.
Scott led Miami (13-3, 4-0) with 15 points. He also knocked down a pair of free throws with 26 seconds left to give UM a 58-57 lead.
The Hurricanes sit atop the ACC standings after N.C. State (14-3, 3-1) lost to Maryland.
Kenny Kadji scored in double figures for the seventh consecutive game as he added 14 points for the Hurricanes. Kadji is averaging 14.7 points during the stretch.
Trey McKinney-Jones also scored in double figures with 11 including a key jumper with under three minutes left and the shot clock winding down with UM trailing by three.
Boston College (9-8, 1-3) led 28-26 at halftime, but after a three-point play by Hanlan, Miami went on a 10-0 sparked by three lay-ups by Julian Gamble for his only points of the game.
Hanlan led all scorers with 17 and Lonnie Jackson chipped in 16.
Next up for the Hurricanes is a home game against No. 3 Duke (15-1, 2-1) on Jan. 23.
