CB Finnie Arrested, Suspended by UM

Thomas Finnie

Thomas Finnie played in all 12 games this season for the Hurricanes.

Cornerback Thomas Finnie was arrested Tuesday and charged with occupied burglary and grand theft, which are both felonies, and has been suspended from football activities.

    • Finnie it's your 3rd time getting arrested buddy... Why are you destroying your future...You are hurting your family... I hope you learn from your decision... Opens up another scholarship for some young kid that wants to do the right things.

    • What future? He wasn't going to play in the league.

Golden needs to swing the hammer & dismiss him from the program. Let him serve as the example that this type of behavior won't be tolerated.

Everything isn't about playing DAMN PRO FOOTBALL... That's what's wrong with most black student athletes now.He had an opportunity to graduate from the University of Miami.. Everybody doesn't get that chance.

    • I hope he grabs a hold of reality and figure out what he wants in life. If it's not football then so be it, but you're a STUDENT-athlete. I hope he figures that out, prayers are for him

    • What a shame.

Dam CANES-Please don't start getting our name out there like FSU & UF was the last few years with every time you turned around 1 from those teams were being arrested. We don't need anything like that because this is how it is-although so many Holes & Turds were arrested, look how fast it was swept right under the rug & you don't hear nothing about it. If a CANE get's arrested, it's front page news & they won't let ya forget about it & they are the media. They feed off this BS from us so CANES-KEEP YOUR NOSES CLEAN & KEEP WORKING TOWARD OUR GOAL HERE AGAIN. DOMINANCE & MAKING US KNOWN AS "THE U" AGAIN GUY'S !!!!!!

And looks now as if 1 more schollie just became available-I said AG was gonna hit the 20# in this class, just didn't think it would be like this though.

    • could've graduated here and maybe make the nfl never know but he is a dumbass time to leave the program and grow up

    • This will hurt a bit! Finnie, is a solid veteran CB with a lot of game experience definitely would have been in the two deep rotation, now will likely be replaced with an 18 year old freshman with no experience!

      tone

    • Letdown... I hope he learns from his mistake.

It isn't a racial issue- most student athletes of all races think that way if they are playing a sport that has a legitimate pro league.

    • So sad. Really, I just can't imagine how he must feel after blowing the best chance he probably ever got in his hard life.

I understand that.... I was speaking from my own experience. I wasn't trying to make it a Racial Issue.

    • Don't make this about recruiting guys....this could be his life getting tossed aside. Yes we know it was his decision and his fault, but this isn't all about football

Yeah tone no doubt we would still love for him to be here but, it is what it is & just look who we have coming in bro-BURNS & CARTER are the real deal & now this only opens more opp for them to hit the field early dude. We are starting to get some serious talent back there again & Finnie is unfortunate but, we have dudes & will have that are ready to show what they got & bring it like a CANE DOES !!!!

    • This has many different point of views and some may not agree with me but it ain't about football or recruiting its a young mans life at stake here. I know as fans it's hard to see it outside of the hurricane uniform but its more to life than that. Now his family name and future in everything outside of sports is in jeopardy

I know REEZIE & that's why I said" what a waist bro-the kid had everything in the world going for him & in 1 instance his life has now forever changed. Just like 1 play can change you life, so can 1 decision -I hate that for any young man still learning & maturing as a young man & now he may have to learn growing into a man the hard way. It's def a shame REEZIE....

    • The kid f---ed up but we shouldn't hang him. How many of us did stupid shit at that age. Bottom line is he probably really needed the money. And it was just a lap top. Remember Cam Newton. GO CANES
