MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- Dustin Hopkins hit a 46-yard field goal to give No. 14 Florida State a 13-10 lead over Miami at halftime.
Stephen Morris started for the Hurricanes after the junior quarterback was listed as doubtful with a left ankle sprain on Thursday’s injury report.
Morris completed 9 of 18 passes for 80 yards with an interception and lost a fumble.
Hopkins kicked a 33-yard field goal to put the Seminoles on the scoreboard before James Wilder’s 17-yard touchdown run tied the game at 10.
Florida State put together an 8-play, 35-yard drive in the closing minutes as Hopkins connected on his second field goal just before halftime.
Miami was limited to 118 yards on offense compared to Florida State, which racked up 226.
FSU’s E.J. Manuel completed 12 of 19 passes for 124 yards while top tailback Chris Thompson was knocked out of the game in the second quarter with a left knee injury. Thompson had 94 yards of offense before the injury.
