CB Finnie Released From The Team

Thomas Finnie

The University of Miami has confirmed cornerback Thomas Finnie is no longer a member of the football team.

Finnie confessed to the theft of a laptop computer from a dorm on the Miami campus and surrendered to police in early December. According to the police report, the laptop is valued to be at least $300, but less than $5,000.

He is the second player in the last week, along with linebacker Gionni Paul, to be dismissed from the team.

Finnie played in all 12 games during his sophomore season in 2012 for the Hurricanes, posting 26 tackles and one interception.

Finnie played in 11 games last season as a true freshman as one of Al Golden’s first recruits.
