American Heritage Delray Beach won the 3A State Championship Game thanks in large part to the 243 rushing yards and three touchdowns by 2013 running back Greg Bryant.
Paving the way for Bryant was 2013 offensive lineman Roderick Johnson (6-6, 285) who figures to be one of the top prospects at this position in South Florida next year.
"We played a good game and we practiced and prepared and we were ready," Johnson said. "Once the game started we just punished them. I did my best to open those holes for Greg Bryant and he did the rest."
The recruiting process has just started for Johnson who at this point is receiving letters from Miami and West Virginia.
"Right now I am just getting a lot of letters from Miami and West Virginia. I plan on going to some junior days across the state and learning about all the schools in Florida. I am real interested in all the Florida schools right now. If I can go anywhere in Florida, I will go there."
Johnson discussed Miami, Florida, and Florida State and what he likes about each program.
MIAMI: "I grew up a fan of Miami. I liked the 2001 team when they won the National Championship. That was one of the best teams ever."
FLORIDA STATE: "I like their offense and they seem like a program that is on top right now in Florida. They wouldn't be a bad school to go to."
FLORIDA: "They seem like they will get it back soon. They usually have a pretty good offensive line, so that is something to watch."
Johnson talked about what he will be looking for in his future school.
"I just want a place where I feel real comfortable and where I can be coached up to be the best I can be and a place where I can help win championships," Johnson said.
